Post subject:  Could Someone Rate this Deck?

Hey fellow TCG fans (if there are even any left on Psypokes :? ). I recently constructed a deck, and I was wondering if someone out there could rate it for me. All feedback is appreciated!

Forest Battalion Theme Deck
Grass/Fighting

Pokemon
(Note: All of the Pokemon are from DP Legends Awakened)

Armaldo x1
Anorith x2
Claw Fossil x3
Cradily x1
Lileep x2
Root Fossil x3
Hitmonlee x1
Hitmonchan x1
Hitmontop x1
Tyrogue x3
Ninjask x2
Shedinja x2
Nincada x 3

Armaldo is the main fighter on the team. Its high HP and weak attack preventing Pokebody ensure that it's in long enough to make a dent in the opponent's team. Furthermore, its attack, Crush Claw, can do 100 damage in a turn. Cradily is the other main force in my deck. It has a good amount of HP also, and given the right circumstance, can completely heal itself with its first attack. The second attack is good for dealing damage and setting up for the first attack. Next is the Hitmon- trio. There's a Tyrogue for each of them, so the extra effect of their moves can come into effect. They each have decent HPs, but can do some serious damage if you play your cards right (pun intended). Ninjask isn't the strongest out there, but it allows you to bring a Shedinja into play upon evolution, and get rid of some of your opponent's cards. Shedinja may have low HP, but can provide a nice little surprise once it's knocked out. It can also confuse the opponent. Did I mention that it has no weakness or retreat cost?

Energy

Grass Energy x12
Fighting Energy x12

It's energy. Nuff' said.

Trainers, Supporters, & Stadiums

Fossil Hunter x2
Underground Exploration x2
Poke Healer x4
Night Maintenance x2
Rare Candy x1

Fossil Hunter is to bring Armaldo and Cradily into play faster. Underground Exploration is to get at those pesky, back-of-the-deck cards. The Poke Healers are for healing. That's pretty much it. Night Maintenance- just in case I lose a couple of good Pokemon. And the Rare Candy's for quicker access of a final evolution.

I'm not a very competitive battler; I mainly just play it for the fun of the game. That being said, there's probably some flaws in this deck. Thanks in advance!

Before I go and rate this deck, is it possible for you to obtain other TCG cards relatively easily, or is your supply somewhat restricted/limited to a few sets?

I can get other cards easily, as long as they're no earlier than the EX series. I have some from the EX series, a whole lot from the DPPt series, and some from the HGSS series. I have maybe two cards from any series earlier than those. I just picked a random set to construct my deck from. Anyway, thanks for replying so quickly!

All right. Let's see.

First of all, running only 1 of the highest-stage in any evolutionary line is a bad idea. You run the risk of having it prized and therefore will be completely unable to take it unless you start knocking things out. Try to get each one to 2 copies each or (ideally) 3. A 4-3-3 (or 3-3-2) line will be optimal.

Definitely 4 Fossil Excavator. It's the only thing that can search for your Fossil trainer cards, aside from stuff like Poke Drawer + (Stormfront). On that token you might want to run 4 of those as well. And since you're running some stage 2 lines, you will probably want to run more than just 1 Rare Candy - 2 or 3 should do nicely.

I'm not sure the Hitmon lines are necessary. Sure they're nice and can stall for a while (Hitmonchan is amazing with just 1 energy on him; you can just park him there and laugh as your opponent won't attack you), but overall you want to try to get your setup faster. A good starter for the deck is Jirachi, from either LA or RR - the former moves any 1 card to the top of your deck; the latter has free retreat and duplicates a supporter (and has a nice effect when it gets KO'd). I'd recommend the latter if you can get it. If not, the former will work fine.

For Energy you might want to run 8-10 of each, not 12.

As for other Supporters I'm not sure what you might want (having 2 Night Maintenance is fine though), but here are a few ideas of what else you can add (besides what I've mentioned above):

~Claydol GE. You don't use it to attack (although you could in case of emergency). You use it to get rid of cards you don't need so you can draw 3 or 4 cards and see what you get out of that. A 2-2 line is optimal, though you could get away with 1-1.

~Stark Mountain. It lets you move your Fighting Energy onto Armaldo. It doesn't offer as much support for Cradily, but in my opinion, Armaldo's by far the better one (since it blocks anything less than 70 - I used to run him myself), so you may want to focus on him.

~PlusPower, Defender, and/or Expert Belt. Defender's more for Armaldo (so he can tank better in case your opponent drops a giant hitter), since with just 1, he neutralizes even an 80 damage hit. PlusPower/Expert Belt are more for Cradily so he can score that knockout and heal all his damage away. However, both of them can utilize these cards.

~Bebe's Search (or Celio's Network). Lets you search for any 1 Pokemon in your deck. It's truly amazing. Luxury Ball works as well - but it's a one-off, so don't run more than 1. But it is a Trainer, not a Supporter, which is good. They can't search for the basic Fossils, though.

There are more out there than just the ones I mentioned, though. Fossil cards are a bit quirky to work with since only a couple cards can search for the Basics (Roseanne's Research can't unfortunately), and there aren't cards that offer support for Grass and Fighting at the same time (usually one or the other), but when utilized properly, the two LA fossils are forces to be reckoned with. Cradily's great for disruption, and a well-timed Drain Down can ruin all your opponent's hard work. Armaldo is more of the tank and prevents a lot of damage, letting him swing away to his heart's content.
Best of luck to you!
