Maybe if i could hack them i would to help with national dex and IV's because frankly, i haven't the foggiest about IV's. EV training and levelling i prefer to do myself. I like the hard way of doing it. It's something to do. I think eventually i might get an AR but no time soon i don't think. I've played through Yellow, Crystal, Emerald, FireRed, Pearl, SoulSilver and Black without hacking so i don't see why i would want to now. For any events i need, i just get them off wifi, go looking in forums/IRC for people willing to even do tradeback. 'Sall good fun.

I used to use my AR on Diamond a lot, but weird things started happening. For example, when I'm in front of the Elite Four castle, everything off the sides of the cliff is supposed to be water, but it's just white. Plus, I could walk on it, and that's bad, because I know this one guy who used the walk through walls cheat, and walked through the back of a pokemon center. He was doing that for about two minutes, and then he turned around, and went back. He ran for two days, but never made it back... So, yeah, I don't hack. Also, I can't find any good cheats online, and the ones already there are no good, mostly. I prefer to play legit.

I have used an AR on Diamond. But technically using an AR isn't hacking. It's modifying the game codes. That's why the program you download is called "Action Replay Code Manager". If you don't know what game codes are, they're pretty much if/then statements and commands, etc.

I think gaining access to things that you are not really looking for yourself or getting when you can't is classed as hacking. I mean, even if there is a legitimate way of getting something (say for example a Charmander with full IV's on each stat), i would still class it as hacking if you used a cheat device to edit the values or breed for one. It's not really about 'technically'. I think most people would view that a hacking.

I guess your right. I mean, I think getting through a system or computers firewall to edit codes is hacking to begin with.

Occasionally, I have a good friend of mine max out my Poke and BP (which is handy), but other than that I don't really hack the game anymore. Even if I did have a perfectly Pokesav'd team, I would still be mediocre competitively compared to everyone else with perfect teams. So I don't bother.

Yeah. Plus, I've gotten perfect hacked teams before, and at first you think "Aww, this'll be so awesome!!1!!1" Then, you find out that you don't get that same proud feeling when you get your entire team at Lv. 90 or 100. Also, I'd wind up ditching the hacked Pokemon later, anyway.

I agree with you completely on the part about the proud feeling. I think the work is worth it in the end

Haha yeah, I remember when I got my first Lv. 100 in FR, and I was sitting there all quiet, training my Lv. 99 Zapdos, and when it got to Lv. 100, I said, "Holy crap, I friggen did it." It was an awesome feeling.

I've made a solemn BW never to hack my game, because I enjoy the feeling of accomplishment of actually doing something. I do like to try out glitches in the game, because it feels cool when you walk through a wall or something of the like without the use of a hack.
