Uhh erick, I don't think it's a good idea to have your whole team @ Lv. 50 when you still have to face Sabrina, Koga and about 20 more trainers cause they will disobey you. My advice: get sabrina first, then face everyone else so it will be much easier to battle.
I actually grinded my swinub in HG from Lv. 23 to Lv. 31 in the course of 3 hours, so do know how to do it. I just wish I could get more rematches in that game because I really want my team above Lv. 45 and I got only three rematches through the whole 34 hours that I've played (they all came right after beating claire).

@ b-mac.
I'm not saying you don't know how to do it. I was just explaining that I used an excellent spot to grind up.
May I advise for you looking at a list of the people who will battle and calling them?
I picked up battles really fast that way. Another excellent spot to grind in HG/SS is the route before victory road by the old healing lady's house. Each poke there is about level 30 and gives off between 300-1000 exp if i remember correctly.
Also I have a badge that allows me to control traded pokemon up to level 50. MY own pokemon wont disobey me no matter how high I grind them. Regardless, Saffron is my next destination so the inversion in levels wont exsist for long.

I think badges only affect TRADED Pokemon . Pokemon you train should be fine . And I'm not really sad over Garchomp , Sneasel's one of my favourites and I'm sure glad to have him in my team

GofD wrote: A) Badges effect your pokemon too. B) Wait for it. If you do get em too high WITHOUT the right badge THEY WILL DISOBEY YOU. GofD, you're corrent in it that badges effect your own Poke'Mon, however, regarding levels and disobedience this is not the case. Badges allow you to use certain HM's outside of combat as well as giving your Poke'Mon certain nifty boosts. However, your own Poke'Mon (The ones you catch yourself and therefore has the same OT name as yourself and ID # as yourself) will never disobey you regardless of how high you decide to train them.
This concept holds true up to the 4th Gen games HG/SS and is very likely to roll over to B/W unless for some very strange reason Gamefreak decided to be a jerk and change it.
So, as far as levels go, badges only affect Poke'Mon not originally caught by you. I.E. Traded Poke'Mon.

Current update: I am battling my way through the water route around cinnabar island. I went to the power plant and caught a magnemite (immediately named static) @ Lv. 25. Team (lvs. , stats, and movepool plus a little description) stats will be hp/atk/def/satk/sdef/spd -static Lv. 39 100/62/94/89/61/72 Movepool of spark, supersonic, swift and lock-on -- I raised it to Lv. 38 so it could learn swift before allowing it to evolve. It is a very effective battler right now, being in about 100 battles in a row without taking more than 30 hp damage total. -screech Lv. 43 129/94/75/65/73/102 Movepool of air cutter, mean look, confuse ray and bite -- Why won't the damn game let you evolve? I want a crobat now!!! (He's been able to evolve for 10 levels now and it's annoying) I've never had a crobat before, too. -Tiny Lv. 43 202/111/75/72/99/50 Movepool of headbutt, body slam, rest and block -- absolutely no special what so ever, and I want a more diverse movepool for him. His speed looks a little high too, I guess he either racking up a lot of speed ev's or his speed IV is 31, idk. The other snorlax I had in HG was Lv. 63 and only had a speed of 48, so that's why I'm confused. -Houdini Lv. 44 145/83/73/74/121/72 Movepool of headbutt, hypnosis, meditate and psychic -- don't know whether to give hime dream eater or not... still very useful even rhough he has a bit of a shallow movepool. -Crossbone Lv. 45 122/90/101/60/77/65 Movepool of bonemerang, false swipe, headbutt and focus energy -- with a thick club I do say this one is my big attacker. I can KO just about anything even or lower in levels with a headbutt, and I need to break off from the headbutt love, it's a good move if the poke can get STAB using it but otherwise it's just a hax move. -Leonardo Lv. 47 141/82/115/93/127/105 Movepool of Surf, bite, mega punch and rapid spin -- just gonna make him learn a TM; I am split between ice beam and toxic. Haven't bothered using him lately because my team can handle themselves, he sort of takes the leader role of my team. Goals: 1) Get all pokes atleast Lv. 45 2) Cinnabar Gym by Wednesday 3) overhauls of the movepools of golbat, snorlax and marowak. -thank you for clearing this up, I kind of wish I kept my mouth shut about that topic.

Then, there are those that only possess DP. I borrowed at friends HG to get myself a Mew (I don't own HGSS myself). With that, I get a Mew to trade to them. I decided that since so many people were doing this, that I would go ahead and give it a try on my Diamond version which I have already beaten like 8 times so I know it pretty well. At the moment, I just restarted the game so I soft reset for a Naive Chmichar with some decent IVs and finally caught an Adamant Starly 8 tries later. So atm, here is my team; Ichiban @ Level 13 Scratch, Leer, Ember, Taunt Red Robin @ Level 11 Tackle, Growl, Quick Attack, Wing Attack The next thing I look to invest in is a good roserade, in order to get some type coverage and have a Spc Attacker when it evolves. So far, I have done nothing but grind in the wild. I haven't even gotten through the first route of trainers after you get the pokeballs from the Prof Rowan's assistant.

You're actually trying for natures and IV's? I never bothered as the challenge doesn't promote any competitive catches really, but to each their own. I thought it was too time consuming, and when you get to the more versatile Poke'Mon later in the game it gets more difficult. (I never reset the game myself to try to catch any Poke'Mon I wanted, otherwise I'd have that Growlithe right now instead of Persian). It gives a feel of uncertainty and forces you to use Poke'Mon and natures you normally never would. Like me and my Wigglytuff. Never used one in the past, but now I love them.
