A friend and I were having a discussion about this, and I'm honestly unsure who is right. For all of the Hyper Beam type moves, i.e. attack in turn 1, uncontrollable/charge in turn 2, he believes that should the attack miss, your next turn is not uncontrollable, and you can attack again. The guide here says that the uncontrollable turn happens no matter the result of the attack. I've not yet had the chance to test this in gameplay, but if he is indeed right (and he says that he has tested it), then I think that should be clarified.

Hope this is the right place to post this, I'm honestly not sure. Thanks! Will edit after I test tomorrow with results.

This is not the right place; Viridian Forest is for bugs/site errors. I've moved this to Pokemon Center, the general forum for Pokemon discussion.

And BTW, I believe that you are correct, but I haven't tested it recently.

I do know that if Hydro Cannon misses, you can still attack next turn.

yea if any of the hyperbeam moves miss you are able to attack the next turn but if you hit you are charging next turn one way around this in game is to use a hyperbeam move and kill an opponent then you will be asked to switch out do so and you dont have to deal with the changing

Yeah, you still have the option to switch out your Pokémon if you end up defeating the opponent with the move and the trainer is ready to send out the next one.

Although this method won't work in competitive.

Useful strategy for NPC/Storyline battles, though.

Which is why many people don't recommend relying on Hyper Beam-esque moves in competitive play.
