Never:
 Have all pokemon of the same type in your team, esp. Normal.
 Go without revives.
 Walk in grass etc. where the pokemon are stronger than what's in your party.
 Send out Kyogre and Groudon in the same turn in a battle. (Or don't use 2 different weather effect moves in the same turn)

Never:
Keep HM Slaves in the first slots in your party
Forget to go to the poke center before going to a gym
Forget to save before you battle a gym leader

Never:
 Forget to save before battling a legendary
 Use a Master Ball on a weaker legendary like Uxie or Alzelf (unless you have an AR w/ te 999 MB cheat)
 Go around with all lv 100 pokemon; instead bring ones to train, even if it means giving it an exp. share and battling with a lv 100 pkmn
 Battle with glitch pokemon in your party, like Missingno. or BAD EGG.

Well, you should never:

Forget types. Remembering them will give you a massive advantage
Forget to save after capturing a shiny, or seeing a roaming pokemon in Pre-gen IV games

never forget to switch for your team pokemon for a wifi battle

-Never forget what type a Pokemon is.
-Never battle the E4/Gym's without Full Restores.
-Never attack your own Pokemon in a Double Battle.

Never:
 Have your best pokemon as the same type as your beginner when fighting the E4.
 KO a legendary, either catch it or let it KO you.

-Never have your whole team be weak to certain type attacks. (eg. Ice, or rock moves)

Never:
-Attack your ally. (except if its Skill Swap, or Roleplay.)
-Let Regice faint w/o catching it because it will be really hard to catch it again.
-Miss a Shiny. phailin' to catch it is a real total nasty hard-to-get-that-again bummer.

Well, there are cases where a pokemon would have water absorb, flash fire, or something like that. Then it would be okay.

Anyways,
Never make your pokemon forget a move other than splash.

Actualy Khoufu, normal and Dark are the only types I suggest you do that with. Normals only have Very diverse movepools, and one weakness, whitch can be covered by a Togekiss or any other normal-flying. And Dark has arguably the most diverse pool second types, and only two weaknesses, one of whitch has very few strong attacking moves.

I disagree with this, when I was training up Hitmonchan in FR, it made sence to put it in a double battle with stronger allies and opponents.

Do you mean HM slaves?

NEVER travel without pokeballs of some sort. The last time I ran into a shiny (Pikachu) I had nothing with which to catch it. It made me sad.

i don't even remember starting this topic and it just took off. im so happy that it got so many responses, anyways, back on topic

never have one of your main pokemon know cut (although it did win me a battle tower win, go 30 uses and struggles major recoil)
when EV training with EXP. share, never go near a trainer if you don't know if you've fought them yet.
and never believe luck is on your side

I actually have no problems doing that. I've yet to have any issues just sticking with only the starter until the end of the main story, double battles included.

never assume the opponent is less accurate than you, you are usually wrong.
never use a Physical sweeper on BT Linoone's, they always have Choice Band/Trick Maneuver.

Actually sometimes that's a good thing.Ex: use poisonpowder on a pokemon with guts or use flamethrower on a pokemon with flash fire.

Never lose the game cartridge, it will NOT help you play the game better.

Never forget Antidotes, it really hurts.

Never train Pikachu if you normally can't stand it. This rule applies to most Pokemon, but ESPECIALLY Pikachu.

Never forget how to SPELL Pikemon, Pijemon, Pokechu, (Pikachu), it really hurts! (falls over laughing)

Never throw your game at the wall if you miss that Legendary or Shiny.

Never start training lv5 Pokemon after you beat Blaine without using VS seeker, it still really hurts.

If you can predict a CB Trick, physical sweeper may be the best pokemon to use - better than having your tank or special sweeper Choice Banded :?

Because Nintendo secretly hates us.
That's why they make shinies appear in the Safari Zone.

....Never save after seeing a Shiny in the Safari Zone... unless you catch it.

I was in that situation once in the searching for {raikou} in leafgreen days. See, I never thought I see a shiny, so I only had a Master Ball and a luxury ball(back when you only got one per game). I see a shiny {bellsprout} in disbelief, I luckily had a weak pokemon to lower the HP and got lucky and didn't have to use the master ball(which I never used because I never found {raikou} but what I did find was a shiny and a valuable lesson about keeping pokeballs, always have at least 20 ultra balls in my Diamond.
