I`ve heard from a lot of people that diamond and pearl is the last series of pokemon. Is that true?
And if it is should there or should there not be more series in pokemon?

I`ve heard from a lot of people that diamond and pearl is the last series of pokemon. Is that true? And if it is should there or should there not be more series in pokemon?

i hope not! esp. since i've been playing 10 some odd years and JUST NOW (within last 3-6 mths) found out about all the extra awesomeness - DV/EV's/Natures/move breeding etc. i would say the biggest challenge for them would be to keep making new poke's and keep them from exciting and fresh. where did you hear this rumor from, either cite it, or i will just assume you are going around making up stuff. which is not good

It is not what other people say, it is what the people who make Pokemon say. I do hope for more games, and more Pokemon. But if they can't continue make more new Pokemon and just make games for it then it's cool. |

I think they'll continue to make more Pokemon games because they make so much money off of them. If you think about it maybe at least 1/4 of their income comes from Pokemon. Maybe another 1/4 from Mario, and the last 2/4 from the DS, SP, GBA, Wii, and all they're acsessories. |

Honestly I hope DP is the last Pokemon series to come out. I mean, we've had 493 so far, with so many moves and other various things to learn. It'd take a struggle to remember them...I mean, I can only remember the Pokemon in order up to Swampert, due to the different numbering systems they use. It's rather irritating that they have to make each game more personalized by adding a new Pokedex numbering system, when instead it just makes it more frustrating. And a remake of Gold and Silver would be the ultimate insult of all - remakes tend to ruin everything, no matter what the realm... Btw Roar of Time, Pokemon is fairly recent (1995), compared to the video game giants that have gone before (Mario 1981, Link 1983, Megaman 1986, and Sonic 1991 - the first two are both Nintendo). - DNA |

And while Nintendo does make a decent profit from the Pokemon franchise, don't forget that Metroid, Zelda, Animal Crossing, and of course Smash Bros. are all million sellers as well. |

there better be more. this is the first time ive ever compleated the pokedex and i dont want to make it the last as well. there are still many evolution chains that need something to make more sense like kangaskan needs a pre-evo and farfechd seems so small to not evolve with all the bigger pokemon that would eat it. and the large group of people who would stop buying stuff from nintendo like half my friends since the only nintendo thing that intrests them are pokemon since there so adorable. |

Nope, definitely not. This topic has been brought up umpteenth times by various members, but there's no evidence to show that the series would not be continued. Just because the all-powerful Arceus has been introduced to the Pokemon universe, it doesn't mean that there'll be no more games nor any new Pokemon. Nintendo can simply carry on inventing pre-evos and evolutions for existing Pokemon while going back to the basics and creating simpler Pokemon like those of the Kanto generation. It is also unlikely that Nintendo would stop producing more generations of Pokemon RPGs because it doesn't make sense economically. Pokemon makes tons of cash Nintendo; Pearl and Diamond were absolute bestsellers. I think Nintendo would try to milk the franchise for all it is worth; therefore Pokemon would definitely continue, until there are signs of declining interest in it. Of course, you can argue that they'll stop the RPGs and produce spin-off games only, but then again the spin-off games they have produced thus far are far from decently popular as compared to the RPGs. |

It ain't the last game coz well I know Arceus has been introduced but in religion there is always a opposing entity to God, so when they make another game they will probably add the said opposing force to God |

And there's nowhere in the game that says "Arceus is a God Pokemon." It just says it's the "Alpha" Pokemon and the "Original One," and it makes allusions to the Chinese Creation myth of a god coming out of an egg. Perhaps Arceus was just the first egg that hatched from the day care couple's home?
