This is the Did You Know? Thread
In this thread you can only post interesting or curious Pokemon games facts that cannot be found easily in a walkthrough, guide, fansite, etc. in the form of "Did you know?" questions.
Here are 3 interesting things I have found:
-Did you know that Steelix is the only item-evolved Pokemon that can be found in the wild?
-Did you know that Buizel, Floatzel, Suicune and Vaporeon are the only pure-Water type Pokemon based on real life non-marine mammals?
Wailer/Wailord are based on whales, which are mammals too, but live in seas.
EDIT: I forgot Marill and Azumarill
-Did you know that in R/S/E, at the Cycling Road, there is a Psychic trainer who is not riding a bike?
Now post what you have found

Did you know, if fighting-type only win against no-trainer type? I mean, Fight-type wins against ice, dark, steel, and rock. And there is no trainer with those types (except elite 4 or gym leaders).

At first glance this looks true, but don't forget the move Forsight. That plus a strong fighting move equals one Sableye or Spiritomb in trouble.

That, in the beta versions of Red and Blue, Koffing and Weezing would be called NY and LA respectively (representing the smog-covered cities of New York City and Los Angeles)?
We could go on forever with beta names but I found those two quite interesting (as I don't live too far from LA, where there is no such thing as true fresh air around here).

I wasn't counting foresight, or else i wouldn't have put this comment here.
Did you know that jigglypuff's japanese name means "liquid manure " in french? I must have grossed you out, but it's just as interesting as disturbing!
Did you know that giratina is the only pokémon weak against both of its types?

Did you know that Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres have suffixes of -uno, -dos, and -tres, respectively? (For those non-Spanish speaking pokefans, that's one, two, and three)
Of course, all of you know that Dragon-types have only one weakness: Ice. However, did you know that Kingdra is Dragon and Ice, and, therefore, has no weaknesses?
Edit: Whoops, it seems i've been wrong all along, apparantly dragon is weak against dragon, and Kingdra is Dragon and Water.
Still, Kingdra has a one up on most (if not all) dragons, in that its still resistant against ice.

Uh....molt is probably derived from molten. As in, molten lava. I think Articuno should have been Arcticuno. CLoser to the original.
