I have sent a mesage to http://www.pokemon.com to see if they can confirm anything about Pearl and Diamond. So I'll keep everybody updated as soon as I get anything.

Or Nintendo could be doing the boring idea of Mewthree. And how come Mew is after Mewtwo in the pokemon Number? I always thought that was screwed up too. Mew should be 150, 000 or 001.

some things that i have heard are:
the game is coming out in late 2005 (around X-mas)
ive only seen two new pokemon (rukario and munchlax)
a rumor is that pearls legendary is deoxys and diamonds is jirachi

I'm assuming Rukario will be the main legendary in the third version of D/P (assuming they make one).

Ahhh....I wanted to see new legendaries....Pitty the game is for the DS, I'm not buying one....It's too expensive...

Yeah, I am pretty sure the new games should involve a new set of pokemon, including atleast 4 new legends.

What kind of pattern? Like, japan's mithologycal creatures? I think that could be possible because of the Dogs and the Birds, and Dragons would follow the same line.

I personally think that the next legendary trio will be dragons or another mythological creatures/gods. Note that the following are just my opinions

the birds and beasts are, IMO, a representation of Native American and South American creatures, as birds and canines (foxes, dogs, wolves) were pretty common in that kind of folklore, as I recall. Of course, there are many mythical birds and dogs/wolves/foxes/whatever in other cultures, so this is neither here nor there.

The Regis are most like Jewish golems, humanoid statues made of clay or rock (and in this case, ice and steel as well...)

New dragons might be a possibility, but there are a lot of legendary dragon pokemon already, and in a way, a dragon in general is already legendary (not in the "only one" sense, but you get the point)

Maybe Rukario, going with the theory that he'll be similar to Anubis, will be one of 3 legendary egyptian style gods, like Horus, Osiris, and Anubis or something?

I'd personally like to see something a little less predictable than dragons, is all. Minotaurs? Gryphons? Manticores, even?

Personally I think (excluding the Starters & Legendaries) that the R/S/E generation are just rip offs of the R/B/Y & G/S/C generation.

Eg) Plusle & Minun - They're just trying to be Pikachu
Milotic - Remindes me of Gyarados, you know, evolves from a stupid
weak Poke and becomes this powerful breathtaking monster.
Salamence - Just R/S/E's solution to Dragonite & Tyranitar.

I wouldn't go so far to say "Clones", they've just got striking similarities.

This may have already been posted but... The release date is something like December 2005 Japan, March 2006 US and May 2006 UK & Europe. The US & Europe dates are just estimations based on how long it normally takes for the games to be translated and released and so on.

Maybe because FireRed/LeafGreen came out on the GBA to even though they were after R/S. Not only that but Emerald is for the GBA but that is to be expected.

for some reason, whenever people find out the game they want is coming out on the nintendo ds, they groan. not to be critical, but what's so bad about it? the ds rocks. it has AMAZING graphics capabilities, wi-fi compatibility, rechargable batery, and much more. i'm glad p/d is coming out on the ds. it'll be great to see what the game will look like.

oh, i apologize for assuming things. i aint rich either; i got the ds for my birthday, BUT, my mom said it was too expensive so i had to pay for half of it. so i sort of bought it with my own money (which made me bankrupt)

Im glad that the new games are going to be for the DS, I got the DS on christmas and its just amazing.

If there's a Game Corner, do you think the DS' touch screen or voice recognition will be used for the Slots or any other games. Here's an example:

ok, i am new to the site, but still listen up! The upcoming Pokemon code named Pearl/Diamond is indeed for the DS and not for the SP, or GBA. Neither of the two older systems have the processing power to render the scenes in pokemon pearl or diamond. Only the DS has enough power. It will be in a more 3D presented game style, i am thinking that the battles will look something like pokemon colluseum..Thats not a fact, but i think that is what they are leaning towards. The DS has two, count em TWO processers, plenty of power here. The true pokemon fans would run out and get one ASAP when the games come out. I bought one the day they came out on solely the reason that Pokemon Pearl/Diamond would be on DS....They are only 150 bucks!! i mean come on. You can ask for one for your birthday or chistmas or something, just get one! Its totally worth it! I LOVE MY DS, its soooo cool. Just lettin ya know, and as more info is stored in my dome, i will share it with you people, i usually find these things out quickly, i am a in the making game designer after all...GET THE DS GO METALLICA!!!

Hmmm. I don't remember any member of my family having enough to spare $150 at the time. With all the car crashes, hospital visits, taxes in General. No! Face it, not everybody can just buy something for the heck of it!

I didn't spot anything obvious either apart from this. Since Gold/Silver the box art has always been shiny so I'm guessing that's what they'll do for D/P.
