Post subject:  Arceus Event, and it was bogus!
Okay, in case you all didn't know Arceus is being given away to Diamond, Pearl, & Platinum version at toys r us's from november 7th through the 15th. But guess what? My wife and I drove 30-40 minutes to get to the closest one yesterday and Nintendo had not mailed the device to distibute it in time! In other words, it wasn't coming that day. We drove for nothing! That was bogus, mildly putting! What do you all think? Has anything like this happened to you?

WHAT, WHAT, WHAT?! That's stupid. They say they would give away an Arceus on that date and the device hasn't even arrived yet?! If Toy R Us didn't give me my Arceus, I would be like "AYE! What the hell do you mean the package didn't arive yet?! I drove for 35 minutes and you don't have that device? You know what, Screw you guys, I'm goin' home!" That's what I would have done. And no, nothing like this has ever happened to me.

Something sorta similar happened to me. A couple of friends and I were hanging out one day, and one guy says, "Hey, you know they're giving away Darkrai at Toys R Us today. Let's go cause I want one." So we walk over to Toys R Us (5 minutes from where we were), and when we get there he breaks out his DS. The guy says, "Sorry, we're out. Event over" We missed it by 15 minutes and the guy wouldn't give us a break. Ugh. Now I have a Darkrai, but the point is it made me angry face. :mad:

Point being that Nintendo needs to stop being asshats and make all the good events freaking Toys R Us crap. I mean it will a hell of a lot easier on us if they just make the events all done through Nintendo WiFi like they did with the Platinum Shaymin, Darkrai, and Rotom secret key events. Because I ain't going to drive two and half hours to my nearest Toys R Us just to get one single Pokemon. Hell they could even let GameStop do em all like they did with the Diamond and Pearl Deoxys.

Anyway back to the topic at hand. Toys R Us sucks and they shouldn't be the sole providers of things like this so people don't drive thirty to forty minutes to get one and find out they don't have the thing. Nintendo let other people have a shot at doing event Pokemon like this not craptastic Toys R Us. So in case you were wondering no something like this hasn't happened to me, because I don't drive out the two and half hours to my nearest Toys R Us.

Also call Nintendo of America/that particular Toys R Us manager and complain no excuse for not having that crap in on time.

Few quick questions:

How does it work - mystery gift, do i unlock an in game event (ie oaks letter), do i just magically get one?
Can i SR for it?
Can i bring my Pearl AND my Diamond and get two?

Alternatively, CALL your local toys r us BEFORE you drive forty mins to make sure they have it. Thats what i'm doing now...

Guys stop acting so dramatic. It's just a freaking Pokemon. You can live with or without it. I mean I went to my local Toys R Us November 7th they had the Arceus Event at the time. And they do the Events on Wi-Fi if you missed out on the Toys R Us event. Just be happy for that.

Are you **** me. Manaphy10? The point is that he wasted gas and time going to the Toys R' Us which seems far away. With all these people having faith in Nintendo to get the materials out in time, you would think that they would actually do it. Sorry to hear about this ryan_dan.

Guess what, the same thing happened to my friend. He went there and couldn't get the event. We were going to do it later this week but come on. How could it not be there in time? This is a rip off, all the have to do is send it to a store on time, is it that hard? I go to the events, I go to my local Toys "r" us, all I ask is to get them. -_-

Please name me one Toys R' Us event Pokemon that was done over WiFi. I mean not anything like the Darkrai event that was done a few weeks back that allowed you to go to the island it was at, I mean something to the extant of exactly like the Movie Regigigas or movie Darkrai.

Though I didn't mention this in my first post ryan_dan I am very sorry for this inconvenience that happened to you.

Meh, I drive 35mins to work daily, so something like that wouldn't bother myself much. But in any case that kinda sucks to just be turned away like that. I feel bad for the TrU employees that have to explain that to the kids all day long, it's no fault of theirs.

This is his fault he should have called his local Toys R Us to confirm that the event was at his Toys R Us, before he wasted that gas.

@shinashu taji: does it matter? It is still the same Pokemon. The moveset does not matter at all. I happen to think the Pokemon is more important than the moveset of the Pokemon.

The same thing happened to me. I called ahead and they said they had the event going on but when I got there, they told me that they still hadn't gotten the chip from Nintendo. Needless to say I was upset. I'm thinking about complaining to Nintendo.

Went today to our local Toys R Us with a friend of mine. We got our Arceuses, brining her to two and me to 4 of them. All went quickly and smoothly, so we went and looked at toys for a half hour longer. Completely irrelevant, we found these little 5 or 6 inch figures of the three Regis, and they were awesome. I was gonna buy them, but I was paying for lunch too, and didn't have that much cash on me. Too bad; they were neat and I want them. Anywho, just thought I'd tell everyone that not all Toys R Us stores are incapable.

The last thing I needed was to be made fun of by a mod. I was trying to set the record straight for Nintendo. Is that really such a bad thing? We all make mistakes (even Nintendo) they probably just forget to send the chip to every Toys R Us in the country. Forgetting something like this is a mistake not on purpose.

They finally got it today! I got two Arceus', my wife got two and my friend did as well. I had complained to Nintendo on November 8th by calling them. They said what they could do is have me send my game as if it needed a repair, put Arceus on it and send it back. They said it would be about 2-3 weeks round trip. NO WAY AM I DOING THAT! So I just waited and sure enough, 5 days after it was supposed to start, Arceus shows up. Anyways, I guess it was cool. Hmm, yep.

ON TOPIC:
I went to store today and the guy said the person who was there there yesterday had already packed it up and sent it to Nintendo but it was advertised to go to today. He went into the back, got the chip, but wtf? They didn't have the event Posters hanging like they do. He packed up the event card and had the damn stamp on it and it was to be shipped back today.
