Mc Donalds is usually a good place to try.

You don't have a single friend with a wi-fi router? They're not that expensive to buy.

Here's a tip: Check your local coffee shop type places. People go there all the time to hook up laptops and stuff, right? Therefore, they would normally have Wi-Fi. Book stores with cafes are good candidates as well. We have Wi-Fi at Borders, Panera, and this place called the Mocha House where I live. Try anywhere like that. Whoever said Starbucks earlier has the right idea, but for the record no Starbucks near me have Wi-Fi cause we just have one in the mall and like a drive through/small sit-in one around here.
