It was announced that the Member Card, the item used to catch Darkrai in Newmoon Island, is going to be distributed over Wi-Fi over the period of August 3 to September 13.

[Update] PAL versions (e.g. Australia, China, New Zealand, Europe, etc.) are getting the Member Card as well.

Oh great. So the US gets ANOTHER event while Australia hasn't even heard news of getting the special Regigigas or Shaymin. I guess we'll be missing out again... Oh well. Who cares about a nobody country like Australia these days lol?

Too bad it's only for platinum. Ah, well. I can already get multiples by tweaking anyways. I was wondering when they'd have this. Hopefully Oak's Letter isn't too far behind.

the link says you need ND to get Darkrai, but do you need it to get the event?

This is probably a very stupid question, but do you have to have the Platinum version of the game to do this event or can you have Diamond or Pearl?

It got updated, now Europe is also getting the Member Card.

I read on other sites that people in Canada and Australia can get the Member Card too, so it looks like we're not excluded for a change.

Awesome, i got my Darkrai about an hour ago . I also found out that you can make it faint, then re-enter the Harbour Inn and go back to fight Darkrai until you catch it. It's at Level 50, ans it's not too hard to catch(caught mine with an Ultra Ball). The moves it knows are Hypnosis, Faint Attack, Nightmare, and Double Team. The thing that's really annoying is that you can't re-enter the Harbour Inn after you CATCH Darkrai. Like I said before, if you DEFEAT Darkrai, you can still go and try to capture it again.

I don't have Wi-Fi access at home, so I've been running around the Melbourne CBD for hotspots. Does anyone here know of any hotspots in Melbourne that work more often than not? McDonald's and Starbucks have never worked for me.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Darkrai is a great place to train. It always reappears, and you can keep beating it and getting EXP. unti lyou please. Then when you are done, catch it or move onto another trainee.

EDIT: I just checked the exp. cal. and a traded, lucky egg pokemon gets 3375 experience points from darkrai.

A confirmation from me - Australians can get Darkrai on Platinum. I just got my Member Card today!

I live in Canada and I caught Darkrai last week. Very interesting event, somewhat creepy, but alright. My Darkrai has a Modest Nature and was caught in a Luxury Ball.

Caught my darkrai the first day it was available and have used it quite alot, its now at level 73
it was my first event pokemon caught it in a few ultra balls.

So yeah, I think it's about time I actually got the Member Card instead of just updating the information. So I got it, brought a Synchronize Pokémon and got it Modest. Mine's still on level 50, I'm going to EV train it.

Yes! I got the event Darkrai! Going through the event is kinda creepy. Like the guy in the house and then he goes "Kekeke". That's weird. Catching Darkrai was annoying. It kept using Hypnosis. I caught with a Timer ball. I kept doing it so I can get a Modest type. I already IV trained it and I'm half way on EV.

My likes me now. It hated my guts when I first got it, but I grew some extra-friendly, EV-lowering Berries to make it happier.

I've just finished training it for Special Attack and Speed. How fitting, the best way to train it for EVs is to fight ghosts and bats...
