ok, in my opinion, steel needs some more disadvantages other than earth and fire, they are nearly invicible as is, if anything they should make them weak to water (water rusts metal) and electricity (metal is a conducter). also dragon is just a "stronger" normal type (large move pools, few weaknesses, little or no disadvantages depending on what game your playing, and few people use them well) i do think that some types should be changed, such as the useless gruop in most opinions (bug) should have better attacks and advantages, but i do think that a few are ok... i guess, the only other things they need to change is that ghost should be special based maybe flying too.

ALSO i think the dark type should be special based (darkness isnt a material thing) fighting types are good because they arent afraid of the dark lol... then shouldnt ghosts be good against it...

OKay my thoughts:

I: Dragon should be super effective against something else than dragon
II:Rock should not be weak against steel (Their almost the same thing)
III:Psychic should effect Dark pokemon SO they can just use Psychic as the "Light" type.
IV:Ice should deal normal damage to Fire
V:Steel should be weak against Electric pkmn
VI:??? should get a name other than ???
VII:Poison should be super effective against Steel (Acid Melts Steel)
VIII:Fight shouldn't be good against Dark
IX:Bugs should NOT be super effective against Psychic and Dark
X: Normal should be super effective against something.

Just to clarify before I make a reasonable post to add to this: Hopefully you all know you are trying to make sense out of a video game with magical creatures, nonetheless.

Anyway.

I. Dragon-tye Pokemon are in a class of their own. They stand their own against a lot of types, so making them stronger against the types they defend so well against would just make that class a legendary class.

II. If memory recalls, steel is harder than rock. Or what I am thinking about it is.

III. You gotta' love Star Wars, man. ;)

IV. Fire melts Ice, thus weakness and resistance.

V. Good point.

VI. It's all good.

VII. Well, you're not going to find too many snakes with a venemous bite to put a whole through steel.

VIII. Think of it this way, Star Wars man: Fight against the Dark side. ;)

IX. That's the irony of it. The Bug-types tend be a small, weak, outnumbered class. You don't see too many people using bug-types as their all out amazing Pokemon. Letting them get at the advantage of two of the most widely used types in the game is a step up.

X. Funny things about Normal-types...well, their just normal. They don't need to have an advantage. They're the laid back, awesomly powerful types (depending). See Snorlax and Slaking? Chansey's HP and power? Even Wigglytuff is still hard to beat sometimes with a combination of Psychic and Sing and Thunderbolt.

I don't agree with some parts of the set-up, but it would be a pain to change that. You would have to learn it all over again.

I think there should be a new type: LIGHT

All the faerie normal Pokemon {cleffa} {clefairy} {clefable} {igglybuff} {jigglypuff} {wigglytuff} {skitty} {delcatty} would be Normal/Light type, and Normal, Rock and Dragon would be Super Effective against it.

Light would be Super Effective against Dark and Ice.

Other Pokemon that would have Light Type in them would be {entei} {raikou} {suicune} {moltres} {zapdos} {articuno} {regirock} {registeel} {regice}

{mew} would be all Light Type, and so would {togepi} {togetic} {chansey} {blissey}

Okay , i think some of u guys often mistaken ice for water , light for fire or psychic .

firstly , Ice are solid water and water are liquid . throwing Ice into fire will turn it into water and that is a totally different elements by pokemon standard .

I say there should be light type , offensively strong vs dark and ghost but offensively weak against steel ( reflect light ) , psychic ( psychic is about the mind , light resemble hope and that is what everbody wants ) and no effect on grass ( adsorb light to make phototsynsthesis ) . And defensively weak against dark and grass but defensively strong vs ghost , psychic and light .

Mind you light and fire are totally different element .

Water weather rock , meaning if the rock are cover up by water , they shrink in size day after day if not kept dry . That way most stone monuments build by ancient civilisation often get out of shape because of rain .

Steel weakness is about being bend out of shape , so Fire ( by melting metal ) , brawn ( by bending it with brute force ) and Ground ( by collasping structure ) are the doom of Steel .

But dun really love the idea of grass weakness to poison , cause most plants can neutralize toxic , develop anatomy and adapt to the chemical and some are totally immune to certain toxic .

saying that would be like saying fire shud be strg against water so it could be stronger. Its fine the way it is.

There shud be a light type. Also all those legendaries should NOT be light. What makes them light type? Also having light beat dark? What makes you think light could beat dark. They would be equal. Dark beats psychic because it has no mind. Its blind power. Btw, darkness rocks. And we do need another victim so bring on the light. Mhahahahahaaa......

omfg i severly suggest that normal types should have advantage atleast over one type. umm that can be normal attacks can be super effective agianst dark types, cuz according to the prophecy lights[normal] can be used to come over darkness. so they should be super eff. against atleast dark type. and also they should do normal damage to rock and steel types. they should be not very eff. only against fighting types, cuz simple logic

example : water attacks are super eff against fire types.and fire attacks are not very eff against water types.

this same logic could be applied to normal and fighting types.

so fighting are super eff against normal and the same way normal attacks should not be very eff against fighting types.

its very awful to see a miltank killing my machamp.

Electric and water types need one more strength. Maybe Electric over grass as electric makes wild fires and water over steel not just a resistance. It rusts it. And why is fire good against Steel anyway

Ground should NOT be weak against grass. That just does not make sense.

Because fire melts steel in real life too.

Actually, it kinda does. Roots and weed destroy the ground.
I think that Rock shouldn't be weak against grass. Plants can't do anything against Rocks :/

The only one that annoys me is Electric being Super Effective against Flying and Ground beingImmune to it. It should be the other way round.

If you get an electric current in your body while your in the air you won't fell anything because it is not a complete circuit. But if your on the floor an an electric currebt goes through you, you will get an electric shock because you complete a circuit with the ground.

Roots can grow into rocks and cause fragmentation of the rocks too, in the same way as your argument for why Ground is weak to Grass.

that makes sense indeed plants grow on rocks, ground[soil] and with the help of water. so grass types are strong against water, rock and ground.poof simple explanation.

alright, heres what im thinking:

1. water should be weak against poison (cuz water is very easy to contaminate)

2. water should be weak against ice (ice freezes water)

3. the dark/fighting thing should be reversed seeing as how if youre swinging at something in the dark, chances are, youre not gonna hit it

4. bug should be weak against fighting cuz simply put, we crush bugs with our feet, and sometimes our hands

5. normal needs more weaknesses idk what but it needs more

Firstly, dark is only pokemon who do "evil" things, like biting, and crunching. Most of the dark type moves could be considered "bad" or "evil", for lack of a better term. It's not like they are covered in darkness, or something.

Secondly, Normal shouldn't be weak agaist more things. Or else, they'd have to be super-effective agaist some things. They're just pokemon that are normal, like a person posting on this forum. But another person on this forum who knows martial arts would have an advantage against the people who didn't. What type other then fighting would normal be weak agaist (Besides ghost.)?

But still, most of the pure gound types seem to be normal types that cause earthquakes or use other ground based attacks. Why would a pokemon that causes earthquakes be weak against grass? But, if you look at it that way... :?

Actually, Electric always conducts to the ground, meaning that after such long exposure to electric, you become immune, and it doesn't affect you anymore. Besides, imagine this: a bird drops on a electrical wire. The wire rips. Then all the electricity traveling through that wire goes into the bird. What do you think happens?[/quote]

If the Bird is in the air nothing happens, if it's on the floor it gets shocked like everything else.

I think that the theory originally was that anything that's flying in the air during a thunder storm is the first thing to be hit by lightening. Basic rule of science: electricity follows the path of least resistance.

Water should be weak to Ice. I agree with Radio Willy.

You throw a block of ice at water. Does it automatically freeze?

And if you throw a clump of grass at the ground, does the earth break apart instantly?

If Pokemon was THAT realistic, it would be boring.

Ok. So I was a little stupid when I posted that but what I meant to say was that water does not freeze every time it comes in contact with ice.

thats true, but even still, when water gets cold enough, it turns into ice, and it would make sense to have water pokemon weak against ice pokemon, thats all. i dont wanna start an argument over something like this.

Well, you can catch a Spheal that knows the move Ice Ball (The Ice-Type equivalent of rollout.), that move is basically throwing balls of ice at the opponent. Also, I believe that there's only one ice move that involves a beam. Which is Ice Beam.

Actually Aurora Beam is a ice-type move and involes a beam, hence the beam in aurora beam.
