Getting Alakazam

I'm about to start playing Pokemon again and I'm going to start out with the remakes of the original. With that in mind, how exactly can I get an Alakazam into my game? Obviously no one is working with the Wireless Adapter anymore and I'm going to be playing on my DS. I don't want to be stuck with a Kadabra that can't evolve. Let me know!

The only way to get Alakazam is via trading, and the DS WiFi is not compatible with FR/LG. I'm not sure if you can still use a link cable to trade with a friend.

Is there no loopholes I can go through to get it into another game? Like transferring Kadabra through Battle Revolution?

That's only for D/P/P. In FR/LG, one needs to trade with a GBA link cable on a GBA.

You can trade to another 3rd generation game with a link cable or WiFi adapter.
