When I talk to people, if there's anything I notice about their face, it's their teeth. What I don't understand is how people, no matter what walk of life (unless you're a bum or live in an undeveloped nation), can ignore brushing, even if it's just occasionally. I run into so many people with rather yellow, brown encrusted, black, or even green covered disgusting, nasty, teeth and blood red gums. I don't expect everyone to have perfectly straight teeth; I understand not everyone can afford corrective dentistry. I also understand that in certain unfortunate accidents, people lose teeth (ie football, hockey, etc.). However, simply ignoring the health of your teeth till nothing anyone can even look at anymore are the miscolored dental structures rotting from your skull.
I'm not here to pass judgement on people just yet, I haven't received their side of the story. I would like to ask "why not?" to those who don't brush or anyone who knows someone who doesn't brush their teeth. I can't really understand how it could be too expensive for someone to buy a toothbrush and toothpaste, considering a set of dentures cost a couple thousand dollars. Exhausting the only excuse I could imagine, I need to know the real reason behind this bizarre occurance.

When I saw the topic I just thought... We've all lost the plot. Ah well. Another weird thing to talk about.
I must admit, I only brush once a day, im terrible at oral hygiene sometimes. I have a brilliant period where im always brushing and using listerine, then I have a bad period where I fall to sleep on the sofa watching absolute trash and dont brush my teeth then forget. On/off.
I havent used floss for a long time. I use listerine instead. And for those of you that dont know it, it's a liquid that fights plague and prevents the teeth decaying etc, it has a weird taste and burns if you use it for too long.
The colour of my teeth aren't pearl white or cheese yellow, more white than yellow. It's actually a creamy colour. Which apparently is better then pearly white because of too much scrubbin'.
Teeth fact: If you drink too much fizzy drinks, your teeth go translucent/different greyer colour at the bottom. Dont ignore it.
Who knew i'd talk so much about teeth. Geez.

Well, since I've been to the Orthodontist 3 times, I brush twice a day, thoroughly and don't eat many sweets. Mouthwash is bad. If you use it after you've cleaned your sparklies, it gets rid of the Flouride that protects the little sparklies.
Meh teeth aren't yellow or white either. Just cream like roobeepohke's. Except mine are like an enamel jungle. They're everywhere. I have overlapping ones too. I'm getting them fixed in about a year, I'll have to post a picture.
Those special flexible toothbrushes? Baaaad. They are just marketing products. The best ones are small, plastic, solid ones, with small bristles. That get everywhere that way.

9 times, pwned. Lol yeah, i've got my braces off a while ago and I never wore the retainer, thus doing nothing bad. So the ortho man said I dont have to wear it as I proved him wrong. I have to wear a tiny wire on the back of my lower teeth at the front. Inscisor/Canine.

...started early on in the Far East. Here they were usually shaped as birds and where of symbolic significance. This tradition still stays until today, where in the Orient, kites still play a central role in local folklore and legend.
When trade started to grow, kites were introduced to the West. Kites were recognized as a good flying instrument, but were mainly used as toys. The colors were usually in normal patterns, and the kites were very simple.
The first kites were from China. It was said that craftsmen built what was probably a wooden bird kite. The early Chinese kites were big and colorful; they were made out of silk and bamboo. But with the introduction of cheap paper around the second century AD, kites became much more easier to make for the common man. They were used in festivals and games.
Japan used kites very much the same as China. New Year

On school days I always brush my teeth, etc. twice a day. However, if it's a holiday I "somewhat forget" to brush them twice  . I never use soap when I wash my hands either, and when I do wash them; I dip them into water for 2 seconds, then dry them.
P.S. I've been to an Orthodontest 4 times lol.
::EDIT:: Corrected grammar mistakes.

Okay, I've been watching this topic all day, so I might as well just post in it.
I'll be honest, I brush my teeth just before I go out and on the occasional mornings where I wake up with a stale taste in my mouth. Other than that...well, you get the idea.
(Also before work or school. I really don't want to walk around with bad breath all day....)

I brush my teeth twice a day, in the morning and before I sleep, but I must admit I do not floss my teeth. Anyway, yellow teeth are actually rather normal. Besides, not all brands of toothpaste have whitening effects. As long as the teeth look acceptably clean and free from bits of stuck food, and as long as the breath doesn't stink, I'm fine with it =)

I brush twice daily, but sometimes i forget to do it the second time. if i can find any in my house, i use scope or crest mouthwash. tip: if you can't take listerine, which i cant , try this: http://crest.com/prohealthrinse/index.jsp
i have used it, and it works. just if you use it too long, there is an aftertaste in your mouth.

Only recently (last month) have I been brushing my teeth twice a day. I only floss when Im bored and find some just lying aroung on the countertop and I'm like, "what the hell why not". Also, I used to use listerine quite often, but not any more.
Considering the amount of sugar I take each day, i'm surprised I don't have a cavity yet. Im just one of the lucky ones.
I brush my teeth before breakfast. Am I the only one who does that? Everyone I know brushes thier teeth after breakfast.

The general view in Britain is that Americans are obsessed with dental hygeine. I'm also aware that the general view in the States is that British people all have very bad teeth. I only brush my teeth once a day, but most people in the UK brush them at least twice daily. Having good teeth is more to do with what you eat and drink than how often you brush.

I only brush once daily and floss at average once a week. I drink a lot of pop and eat a lot of foods with sugar and startches yet everyone says how beautiful my teeth are. Even my dentists says something every time I get a check up. I've only had two cavities and one was congenital. My problem isn't stained or crooked teeth, it's dental caries. It is the most common noncommunicable disease. I don't understand how someone could ignore their teeth so much that it could lead to this:
Anyone who brushes at least once every other day can avoid this. I know too many people with similar oral health issues. It's disgusting to let it go that far.

I agree...
I usually brush mine three times a day, floss occasionally, and use mouthwash at least once a day (sometimes twice).

My teeth are yellow and so crooked that everyone (except me, who prefer convience, comfortablility, naturalness and usefulness to looks) agrees that I should get braces. I brush them twice a day, and yet everyone also asks (when they saw my yellow teeth) me have I brush my teeth. So far, I am the only one in my class that has yellow teeth. One-of-a-kind indeed!

my teeth are yellow and crooked, although I brush once a day. I am bullied constantly for it.
My bottom central teeth are dead due to injuries, and I am regularly ridiculed at school for it. By chavs.

I simply brush once in the morning, then brush and floss once in the evening, before I go to sleep.
