Wow, this actually reached a page. Never expected that.
The others, I understand. But chased by women? How do you mean this, exactly?

Once I figure it out, I shall tell you. I think its just an irrational fear.

....Or possibly, I don't want to have to be forced into a position to choose one to make the others stop chasing me, and then be in an unhappy relationship. Or maybe I just want to take my time, and be rushed/ rushing into something.

I fear rejection, heights, the unknown(what you don't know can hurt you!) and my two greatest fears. Having someone in this world that is exactly like me and thus doesn't make me unique. I mean imagine living in a world where there are two of you and you don't know it. Most people probably wouldn't understand anyway. My other fear is sleeping. I can't fall asleep without having a lifelike nightmare that almost always ends in me dying a horrible death. It's some kind of psychological disability. I don't what it's called though.

Ah, yes. Chronic nightmare syndrome. You probably don't have it, as it is very rare and most likely to show up in children 5 to 8 years of age.
I really **** myself up a couple years ago (before I became an angry person all the time) and had consecutive nightmares for three months in a row. I am now practically immune to the fear of:
Zombies
Necromorphs
Axe-wielding murderers
Psychopaths
Vampires

...And all thanks to lucidity.

Ah, how I love lucid dreams. I conquered a lot of my fears from them as well. I've still been looking to work out my fear of heights though, but haven't been able to be become very lucid as of lately.

One other, rather irrational fear of mine, is that of aliens. I have no idea why, but the thought of some visitor from outer space scares me, since we know so little about them, or even if they exist in the first place.

They exist. I'm positive.
Don't be afraid! As soon as the aliens see what a nasty, dirty little planet we are, they'll leave and never return.

I have a fear of not being in full control of my actions (i.e. being drunk). I drink wine sometimes, but if I have more than a glass I get that feeling of not being steady and it freaks me out. :s The worst time was when they gave me Vicodin after I got all four of my wisdom teeth removed. I took two like I was supposed to when it was really hurting and the whole room started spinning when I tried being vertical. @_@ I just laid down and slept until it wore off.

Also, whatever laughing gas type of stuff they gave me when they removed my wisdom teeth was horrible and I will never ever opt in for that again. I didn't feel any pain and I wasn't fully there, but it's really freaky to occasionally slide back into the scene of someone holding your jaw open while you feel them pulling hard on something inside your jaws until it comes out. >_< And then I was dizzy when it started wearing off, which led to an entire day of vomiting afterwards. ;-;

I hypothesize that all fears are the result of our fear of not being in control. I.E. if you're afraid of spiders, it's because you fear that you don't have control over their actions.

Post subject:  Re: Greatest Fears

^^Quite understandable. Although I love not being in control of my actions. If I'm in total control, I tend to be quite a douche bag.
However, your hypothesis, while having logic, may not be true. I hate spiders because they can troll hardcore. If you ever try to kill a Recluse, it isn't easy. I took a 350 ft/second airsoft gun with a 6mm .25g ball and shot one point blank. It just did minor damage. Any other species would've been blown to pieces.
And your theory also doesn't work with aichmeaphobia (Needles).

Good points! It was something I thought of during my random thoughts/studies of our nature, but I'm sure it's not always true. And that's pretty awesome. o.o I used to be terrified of spiders, but now I find them interesting. I still can't stand tarantulas, though. :x

I am afraid of...what for it...school buses. Not them in general, I don't like being on them.

Who likes being in school buses? Anyone out there?

I'm not afraid of being in one, per se, but to be on one while it is in motion would probably scare me s***less.

I used to curl up and get my girlfriend or bus buddy to rub my back and say comforting things. It was scary.

Wait... Are you guys all serious? I love school buses, and am not sure what would be scary about them...

I am dead serious. It`s an irrational fear, and I know that. But I got through it and I`m proud of myself for that, and I have learned that the friends I have now will stick with me to the end. They were supportive and comforting, I love them.

Oh, ok. It was just sorta confusing to me at first. Good to know that you conquered your fear King_Charizard! :D

Thank you, I still hate them for scaring me for so long. But I`m cool now. Anyone else conquer any fears?

Well, I had a fear of blood, knives, needles etc. So what I did was to watch all the 8th season of Grey's Anatomy without ever looking away from the screen. It helped. Now I'm only afraid of very thin needles. Blood and knives... Bring them!

Hmm.... water scared me for along time, since i almost drowned in a wave pool, when I was 5 years old.
Well, I drowned (yes I was), and someone saw me and took me.
After, I coughed some water, and I was alive!!!

It took me years to conquer this fear, but somehow i managed to do it.

Some says drowning is the worst way to die...
Well... it hurts (alot!!!), but after its so calm, you feel good... forget the pain... and suddenly someone take you off of the pool. (Come at me bro!!! )

Now we see the slightly psychotic side of GP.
Believe it or not, there are many bad ways to go. Drowning, strangulation, pissing off someone who is using heavy machinery (probably why I'm afraid of bulldozers)...

My biggest fear used to be spiders. Ever since I saw one of the "Honey I Shrunk the Kids" movies where they battle a spider, I was terrified. :s Then I was talking to an online friend who adores spiders and I began to see how they're kinda cute. :3 I still don't like them to touch me, but if I see one, I don't freak out in a panic. xD

I also had a fear of large trucks, but I got over that from having to ride in an oil truck for 6 months. :P

Finally, my fear of the dark. I find it comforting now. <3 It used to be terrifying, although I think that's mostly because I would see things moving out of the corner of my eyes and I didn't understand what it was. :s

It probably was me, lurking in the shadows. Don't worry.
Spiders, I've gotten over them. What I still hate is cockroaches. I won't start screaming and take off running, but they disgust me. Especially those big black ones... Yuck!
