My Latin teacher was also interesting last year.. He sang, danced, and made us spend more time laughing at him than working. It was good... word is this next teacher's way mellow, as in "*works on stuff* *looks up at cheating student* 'I caught you!' *goes back to work* *gives student actual grade for completed cheated work*" kind of mellow... eh eh eh.

You say that now but if you did that in any other classes like math or science you will probably regret it if you're attending college. . .I know I do. . I have had so much trouble with math and chemistry because I only did what I needed to do to get an a or a b every time. . . and thats only a fraction of what you need to know to get an a or b in college. . its tough. . . but its easier if you really buckle down in high school. . . I hope I'm not scaring anyone with this post. . just a warning that you guys should not blow off high school.

Ok, after one week, here's how my classes have gone:
Web Mastery - We're going to be learning HTML, FrontPage, Photoshop (yay), and Flash (double yay) until we hve to start doing certification tests. And we're probably going to be taking care of the district web site.
BCIS 2 - Doing various other menial tasks for the school, computer-wise..
Tech Systems - Working with rockets, CO2 cars, bridges, other fun stuff. The teacher seems a bit dull-witted, though.
Physics - We've already been asked how to figure out how much air is in the classroom..
Pre-cal - Should be fun, the teacher cracks jokes every once in a while. But it's like the freaking North Pole in there!
English - Eh..not going to like it. I'll leave it at that.
US History - One of my favorite classes this year..The class got to make up its own rules. Obviously nothing stupid, just stuff like 'no excessive homework' or 'no tests on a Monday or the day after a holiday'.

Well some people do like school. Me for instance. I can't get enough of Social Studies/History. Yeah, not many do like school, but some do.
What am I getting too? Well, what isn't interesting? You never know. Somebody here might be able to give you ideas too make it interesting.
And how did this get posted here? Why? I know there's another one from August, but how did this get here.

Web Mastery - Going through Photoshop right now, mostly to get us ready for the Photoshop accreditation test.
BCIS 2 - Excel. Nuff said.
Tech Systems - Haven't been doing anything, but I think we are starting the next module (10 assignments + 2 tests on a certain area) tomorrow.
Physics - Learning about waves right now.
Pre-cal - SINUSOIDS. If you don't know them, don't ask. They are hard and make my feeble little brain want to implode.
English - Writing.
US History - We're about to start watching Triumph of the Will by Leni Riefenstahl. For those of you who don't know her, she directed two propoganda films (Triumph of the Will and Olympia) for the Nazis in Germany. TotW is about the Nuremburg rally. But we are fast approaching World War II, my favorite period of history.

Sinusoids = Asin(bx+c). If that doesn't ring a bell, you haven't covered them yet.
And I would assume you haven't anyway if you're just starting to graph the trig functions. Sinusoids will come much later and make you want to strangle the evil b*stard that came up with them.

Im in my last year of school, trying to make the most of it while I can.
Subjects:
Religion/Humanities (The only compulsory subject at our school. With this subject comes a compulsory 10 hours community service, which I don't mind.)
Chemistry
Physics
Modern History (will cover French and Russian revolutions and aftermath of WWI this year)
Maths Studies
Maths Specialist
Despite the workload, I totally love senior school. Teachers treat you with respect and you aren't patronised. I get along with practically everyone so it's all good and throughout the whole year level there's an heightened sense of community and general good vibes (not totally sure why, though).
I like school.

Here's a list of the subjects I'm learning this year (I'm in 11th Grade):
English 5 pts.(this is the second language learned here. It is required.)
Math 5 pts. (We're studying functions... ugh)
Bible 2 pts. (I don't know what we're studying, I don't listen in this class... too boring.)
History 2 pts. (Right now we're on 1938, the last steps Hitler did before starting the war in '39. After WWII we'll be learning about the Holocaust for most of the rest of the year.
Social Studies 2 pts. (How the government works, democracy, etc... It's usually quite boring, but sometimes we get into great, heated arguements in class, which are really fun.)
Literature 2 pts. (Studying poetry now - I won't mention names, since they're Israeli poets so names won't mean anything to anyone)
Dr. Scheme 2 pts. (Dr. Scheme is a silly, immature computer program written by college kids.)
C++ 3 pts. (I'm gonna drop this subject, I really hate it. It's boring, and the teacher is a... well, you get the idea.)
Communications/Mass media 1 pt. (We're studying about commercials right now, and we just finished studying journalism.)
History of film 2 pts. (Four weekly hours in a row, in which we simply watch a movie. Every week. This is by far the most fun out of ALL of my lessons.)
Film-making 2 pts. (Second most fun of the subjects. Self-explanitory: We learn how to make films: Writing a script, lighting, sound, editing, etc... We've only done small excercises this year, and one short movie (my movie was 8 minutes long), but next year, throughout the entire year, each pair of students works on one big movie (half an hour long at most).)
Next year, I won't have (meaning, we do the final exams this year):
-English
-Social Studies
-Literature
-Communications
-Dr. Scheme
-3 out of the 5 points of math, meaning that I'll only have 2 hours of math during the week instead of 6.
Can't wait, next year's gonna be a blast 8)

lol no i know wat sinusoids are now...
c+asinbx where c is maximum + minimum / 2, a = amplitude or maximum - minimum / 2 and b as defined by period which is 2pi/b.
we went over that beginning of year but now we're on polar coordinates which r indeed very frustrating...i mean how is it possible to plot an IMAGINARY number anyway?
btw for those of u taking religion, is that only in private schools or is it mandated for the public education system?

I go to a private school. As a subject it's okay, they (the teachers) aren't overly preachy or anything, it's more philosophy than bible studies or something like that.

Well, here in Israel, it is mandatory to study Bible. But it's not "religion" class at all - we learn the bible as if it's a storybook, not a religion book. We just read the stories and try to explain them. It's really quite easy, it's like a literature class, but we always learn from the same book. But, if one wishes, he could choose to take "Judaism" class, which is learning the history of Judaism and reading the holy scriptures, analyzing them and stuff.
