Sad....it can mean anything. Wether you're feeling down, or depressed, or suicidal, or you've just got the blues a bit, what do you do?

Usually I find something to do that keeps my mind off what I'm sad about. Listen to music, read a book, play a video game or maybe watch TV or a movie. Sometimes I just take a long, warm shower and that seems to get my mind off of whatever I'm sad about. I also like to play sports, so playing soccer or basketball works too.

But sometimes when I'm sad it leads to anger which usually leads to throwing stuff around, slamming doors, etc.

I simply remember my favourite things....and then I don't feel so bad!

Usually I'll eat, listen to music, talk to my friends or count the number of days left in the school term. ;p

i normally talk to my best friends about it, but NEVER my family.

mainly because it gets worse. but if i cant get to my friends quick enough, it normaly ends with loud music and a punching to the wall when im depressed or stressed.

I philosophize to myself for the most part, but if I'm not doing that I'll play my video games, listen to Symphony Hall XM, or something that's enjoyable. I like being alone a lot so it's very rare I talk to a friend about it.

First, I lay face down into a pillow. Then, after I get over my major stress, I lay in my bed, staring at the ceiling listening to music and fantasize about killing people that I really hate, (not necessarily someone who caused the stress, it just makes me feel better).

This is what I do whenever I feel sad or anxious (the latter is more common for me for some reason.)

I play my ocarina.
I draw.
I play videogames.
I watch funny videos on the internet.
I cuddle one of my teddies.
I go out (if I can) and grab a coffee and a cake somewhere.
I listen to my Classical Music.
(If the weather's appropiate) I do gardening.
I cook something.
I tidy my bedroom (I strangely feel happier when I know my bedroom is tidy.)
I blow bubbles with a bubble wand and bubble soap.
I go out shopping.
I polish my gemstones (I collect them you see.)
I call a friend and chat to them.
I go up to my brother's room (if he's home) and play videogames with him.
I take a good smell of the lavender bag I made (it seems to lift my mood a little and make me think more rationally.)
I try to put things in perspective.

So I do quite a lot of things when I'm sad or feeling anxious. It's good to have a lot of options. Note that I do not do all of the stuff on the list at the same time ;P.

typically jam to music. emo is my fav so ive got plenty of it. ill watch music videos of sad songs and such. an occasional shot of alcohol doesnt hurt much either.

When i'm sad, I usually buy a ton of Coca Cola (or Pepsi if it's on sale) and then drink it all before I go to bed, maybe saving a small glass-worth for the morning. It's a waste of money, but hell, it works for me.
Also, i'll probably listen to music, which can range from classical to alternative rock to even drum 'n' bass.
I do find that Football Manager 2009 takes my mind off of things too.

I can't stop drinking 2L a day, it's close to impossible. ¬_¬. But I don't eat very much, just the basic daily meals, and no snacking.

This is hard to answer because I do not let things bother me until the point of me being sad. I know it will happen eventually. Anyway, I know it sounds.... corny? Gay? But when I start to stray away from me thinking, "I'm alright," I think of this one special girl. That makes me joyful beyond belief.

Lol, all these things that you do sound really kinda....well, not that depressing. Sure, some of them sound angry (XRader, yours is just plain freakish, man), but you don't seem to, like, contemplate.....suicide. Or self-harm, at the very least. Which is weird, 'cause a lot of people do it at my school.....=/

I usually isolate myself from everyone for at least an hour or so and listen to my music. I ignore anyone that tries to talk to me or ask "What's wrong?"(insert type of whiny voice here). Sometimes I reply what made me sad/depressed in my head and think about what I could have done instead or think of ways that I could die(this one is very amusing), either one.

I did this at a jazz concert/competition I was in. I scewed up a solo (not totally tanking it but it still was bad) so I sat in the back by myself the entire 2 hours listening to my music( and swearing up and down the walls).

When I get sad or frustrated, first I try to hide it for a few minutes, while taking a drink. Afterwards I usually go exercise and run for awhile. It seems to relieve me of any stress. Sometimes, I listen to music instead.

I try to find a distraction like videogames, music, and if that doesn`t work I try to sleep for a while, but I never tell anyone about it, don`t know how but that works for me.
