Just as I was about to go to bed, after a day of refreshing the forums constantly to see who our 8000th member was (and deleting two accounts in the process) we finally have a new legitimate user - who happens to be our 8000th member. Squirtle joined and made a milestone on the forums. Wow, 8000 members!
I'd like to thank everyone for participating in the forums in our slower time, and lets hope activity picks up. Let's also shoot for a new milestone - 10000 members before January 2010. 
Oh, and for those who missed it, here it is. I only took a screencap of one previous milestone - this one. That last screenshot actually scored me a temporary op status in #Psypoke way back when, heh. _________________  |

The community has finally doubled since I had joined (member 3999) This got me interested in the forums' growth rate.... I made a graph 8o. 
Not exactly linear and has been slowing down. Too lazy to find my TI83 to make a regression and get an estimate for 10000 members, but looking at the data it takes ~6 months for 1000 members to join. _________________ And what it all comes down to is that everything's gonna be quite all right |

There have actually been over 10,000 signups, but lots were deleted for clones and other abuse. So this celebrates 8000 legitimate people! _________________ |

haha I didnt think about that...time really should have been independent. That graph makes it look like growth has recently accelerated. Just imagine the inverse and it'll be correct.

Wow, I surely wasn't expecting we would reach that many members! And I'm surprised that name wasn't already taken, haha. I don't know what my number is, but I'm probably within the first 1000, since Psypoke and I just recently celebrated 4 years of union.

Galar, you're member #498, as it says on your TC. That's not an accurate number, but its very close. The number are off by a lot now because we had a lot of spambots in 2006ish, but that's history.
I made it into the first 1000 members on this incarnation of the forums as well, but just barely. I remember when we had less than 1000 members too... it seemed like the community was a little closer when we were smaller. Unfortunately, a lot of older members (the Krytens, ShadowFlygon, Prophet, Eswin, WaterPokemonMaster) are all gone. I kinda miss them. Hell, I even miss the idiots like Lintaro and Johto_Pokemon_Master. We'll always get new members though, so not all is lost. _________________ |

After Nags was nagged to visit Psypokes again (by Patchy) I had to come and stop by.
8000, 'ey? Seems like yesterday it was a lot smaller than that. It's been a lot of changing over the years. Disbanding the teams, admin change, and all that. Even the return of psybucks has surprised me. Happy 8000. PS. And happy birthday vulps. PPS. And I didn't add 'I was in the first N' because I have no clue about that. |

8000th member, of this incarnation of Psypoke. There were plenty that disappeared when previous incarnations of the site went poof, while some came back but were never quite as active. I'm #214 according to my Trainer Card, but I actually joined (what I believe was) the third incarnation =p

I was going by the numbers our TCs would have (even if you don't have one, searching your posts gives the number). Thats why I'm ~7436 instead of 5757, and DatVu would be ~1638.
Or are we going by the memberslist? ;o And I just thought I'd mention that 200 people have joined in this month alone.  _________________ |
