Post subject:  what do you want to be when you grow up?
just what the title says, unless of course you already have a job. I want to finish my "tawjihi" and hopefully go to the university of hartford, then when I graduate I want to go to SAI and learn to program video games, and hopefully work at nintendo.

I asked my dad that I wanted to prgram video games and told me that I shouldn't so I'm trying to be the second best thing which is being a lawyer. :3

it's really a tie for me. detective or criminologist, or something else involving criminals.

a few people don't want me to be a detective because i'll have to spend at least one year (five max) as a uniformed officer. 'nooooo kc don't do it, you'll get shot and then you will DIE' etc.

It would be nice if you actually contributed instead of going "lol little kids" in almost every topic, I'm sure you want to do something other than working at Walmart for the rest of your life, right? :/

I think I want to go into either the legal or medical field, I'm still undecided at this point.

I want to be a teacher of geography, CSPE, religion and english. Maybe history.

The last job I'd want is a surgeon. X_X

Oh sure, let me make a serious post in a topic with replies such as the post above mine? Oh hey, I could be a naive kid who thinks computer programming is a breeze and I'll be working along side Nintendo tomorrow.

It's true, I'm a Walmart stocker, and that company owns me. I'd probably have to find another job to be bumped down to part time for college, Walmart would just laugh in my face if I asked to have my hours changed. I'm not 100% sure on what I'd like to do, but law enforcement seems do-able. The medical and computer programming fields are too high level for me.

who are you calling a naive kid, I said hopefully if you don't know what hopefully means, I can't help you. I'm not naive; I'm just ambitious.

I completely agree :o

I fancy being a teacher or a care-worker. Everyone seems to think that the idea of care-working is crazy, and I'll get stabbed to death, but I think the idea of caring for abandoned or orphaned children, and helping them turn around their lives would feel great. And unless I adopt as a single parent, I'm unlikely to have children of my own.
I would like to become a writer, either writing novels or scripts for television, aswell, although I think trying to follow just that career path would be risky, and I'd like something to fall back on. If I can't get teaching or care-working, I think the idea of a librarian seems nice, because basically I just spend the whole day reading and scanning books.
Other career options I might go for:
Law Enforcement/Police
Secretrary
Agent/Personal Assistant
Possibly a Book Publishing Company Worker

If all else fails, I'll just go on big brother and date and cheat on a footballer.

I lol'd. And I'm genuinely surprised that every post in this topic hasn't been exactly like what Skippy said. As for myself, I've always wanted to do a job I at least have a slim chance of doing. Police officer, fire fighter, doctor, you know the generic stuff. I wanted to be a pathologist for a while but being elbow deep in dead people suddenly lost it's appeal. And then I finally settled on a career that I'm talented at. Writing. I want to be a writer, a journalist for a newspaper, an author. Hopefully all three within my lifetime.

Now I'm not out to crush what ambitions some of you might have, but at least be realistic.

Anthropologist, Sociologist, Etymologist, Psychologist, Actor, Writer. Possibly maybe going into music or gastronomy or culinary arts, but I doubt that will happen. I basically would enjoy jobs that encourage over analysis or the frequent use of words. and I guess food.

I would love to be a footballer or a cricketer when I'm older, but unfortunately, that's not very likely.

When I was little I wanted to be an archeologist! :P I still like fossils and rocks though...

This seems to be a common trend, and I also plan to pursue a career in computer programming. No, not because I'm addicted to video games and want to make the next pokemon game zomgz!!1 but because I program and script in my spare time and enjoy it.

If for some strange reason I don't go into this field, my next choice would be a networking occupation.

I don't want to be anything my family expects me to be, like a doctor, lawyer, engineer, teacher, and so on. I want to do something truly exhilarating and where I can use my creative abilities, like anime cartoonist, game designer, owner of a chain of network gaming centers, mabye a job that involves jumping off stuff, you know...anything fun.

I'm still not exactly sure what I want to be, haha. I have to figure it out soon, though... I have to think about colleges soon!

One of my plans is to study small animal behavior (animal behaviorist sorta thing). Another of my plans is to start up a small animal pet store - making sure everything is up to /my/ standards of how small animals should be cared for. The latter is the one I'll be aiming for, I think.
