I just got back from an optometrist appointment, and in light of this, I've been wondering how many of my fellow Psypokians are also bespectacled. :o

Glasses? Contacts? Laser surgery? What's going on with your eyes?

I'm on my third pair of glasses, these ones are rectangular with only half-rims, the top rims are black, and the arms are orange. They're kinda cool. I'm nearsighted (myopia) and without my glasses it's hard to see anything more than a foot away. Even with my old glasses before I got my prescription changed, I couldn't read the blackboard from the front row of the class.

Anyone else?

Yeah, I wear glasses. (woot!) Since the 4th grade, in fact, and as these years past, my prescription has gotten worse and worse.

As of today, I only know one person who has a greater prescription than me, and one person who ties with me.

-8.75 on my left eye, -9.25 on my right. I've come to assume that -10.00 is the death number. My sister's friend has like a -14.25 prescription on both eyes.

On another note, I got new glasses last year: a pair ot Nike w/ Flexon, dark blue color all around and ovalish lens.

I am nearsighted as well...last I had my eyesight checked, I was at 20/50, so I'm probably at 20/60 by now. Ehh...fourth pair of glasses; my first were back when I was seven years of age. I'm terrified of contacts, to be honest...the idea of putting things on my eye is unnerving.

I wear contacts. They are hard getting used to.

I wear glasses also.

It seems like most people who wear glasses are nearsighted...?

I've been wearing glasses for about two years and I'm not really bothered by them. I quite like them actually... They suit me :p

I've been wearing glasses for about 8 years. It actually feels weird when I don't have them on, because I adjust them every once in a while and when I don't have them on, I'm like "wtf".

My vision is terrible, btw.

I'm nearsighted, and I have glasses, but I only really wear them when I'm driving at night. I should wear them more often, but I'm going to start wearing them all the time when I go to college this fall.

I have had glasses for six years. It was supposed to be longer than that but I didn't wear them like I was supposed to. My vision is 20/80 in my left eye and 20/100 in my right. At least as of last August. I am alos nearsighted.

I've been wearing glasses for 14 years, but I've switched to contacts since then and usually wear those instead. I'm -6.00 OD and -6.50 OS. My prescription is stable now, and being above 18, I'm a potential candidate for LASIK. However, my pupils are 9mm at full dilation, and if they're any larger than 7mm, they don't recommend that it be done. I could still do it, but I might see halos and glares at night.

Blegh, I'd prefer glasses to laser eye surgery, personally.

I don't know what my eyes are and what my prescription is, all I know is that from the front row of seats in a classroom I can't read medium sized text on an overhead. Plus, glasses are becoming more trendy lately, kind of a staple of some peoples' appearances. My new ones are rather bulky for my liking, but I think it adds character. :o

I've had glasses since seventh grade, so for three years now. They seem to get worse all the time -- my first pair of glasses are hardly better than no glasses at all.

I always break my glasses before I begin to not be able to see out of them. I would rather have contacts than glasses. Glasses get in the way.

I had an eye test last week. Apparently, I'm dangerously close to needing glasses, but they'll wait another year or so before making the final decision.

I wouldn't mind glasses, really. Still, it's a shame that my otherwise brilliant history of health would be broken by faulty eyesight. I guess it's in my genes.

Also, glasses > contacts > lasers. Contacts make me squemish, and I've heard rumours about complications to do with surgery. 'sides, glasses are hawt. :p

I don't have or need glasses, apparently, but I do have trouble reading the board sometimes :S.

From my "Stupid Insults" thread, where people tell eachother how people insulted them in a hilariously stupid manner, how ironic!

My mother, father, and younger brother all wear glasses, and with my video gaming habits, I'm probably not too far behind. My eyesight is good for now at least.

Television and computer screens have no effect on eyesight.

I can't speak on the behalf of GQ and what he meant but - women rarely look hot in glasses? They sure do to me. I find the secretary look rather appealing.

Perhaps giving up drinking tea for Lent has already made me insane.
