From my "Stupid Insults" thread, where people tell eachother how people insulted them in a hilariously stupid manner, how ironic!

Hm, I didn't cry. Obviously the dog dying is sad but it was clear that it was going to happen from the start of the video, (and the original poster's comment), so I was 'prepared', but death is a part of life, however much it hurts. Of course I feel bad for her loss like people tend to do for someone who loses someone or something they love - I'm not saying that I don't, you know, give a cr*p, but unless it's an animal or human I personally know, even not very well, it's not going to tug very hard at my heartstrings.
(With the exception of people like Tara and Anya dying in 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' and whoever in 'Charmed', but when you watch something for years you get attached, lol.)

Yeah, I didn't cry either. I also agree with the above post.

I like the Kiwi video. I found it last summer.

That did ruin the meaning.

Well, YOU GUYS AREN'T HUMAN!!!!!!!!

Seriously, I know. I guess it was just really bad for me because I found my dog on the side of the road on January 15th. And we had him since I could hold him in my hand.

Stupid idiots on my 45MPH road that drive 70MPH

Why was your dog out near roads on his own? He probably would've died if a driver had been going at 45 miles per hour anyway, unfortunately.
It's not like dying and someone losing something/someone they love isn't sad but if we got upset every time someone/thing died then we'd be upset all the time and would probably go a bit loopy.

My goldfish died in May and I had him for 8 years but I'm not going to shed tears if I hear about someone else's dead fish :| especially 5-6 months on or 10-11 in your case. And if you think it wouldn't be very sad because you can't play with a fish then you're wrong, it doesn't matter what you can do with something if you love it, plus I could just tell you about my dead duck or hamster or whatever.

My grandmom let him out to pee. He usually stayed on the porch, as he was too scared to go off unless someone was with him. The farthest he would venture alone was the little "hole" area of the front yard (10 steps off the porch - about 100 feet from the road.) I had been mean to him the night before, and spent all morning wondering where he was. When I was in the driveway, waxing my car I thought "Where the heck is Wuwu? When he is outside he always runs up to me?!!?" That was about the time I looked up and saw a white mound around 100 ft from me. I thought "Hey! That looks like my dog! Where IS my dog?" I didn't even register what it was untill about three seconds later. Someone had dumped out some food on the roadside and he had went up to eat it. The idiots on my road who drive 70MPH would have seen him if they were driving 45 like they should have been in the first place. He was snow white (against a black and yellow-green background.)

Even if one doesn't relate entirely, we all experience the feeling of loss. No one can claim to understand what anyone feels in any situation, given we don't live ours lives as others. Brother or sister, mother or father, we all understand these words to mean something different, because they are different to each of us. In light of this, we can't grieve with another or in the same manner, but relate and understand.

Everything in life shapes who we are, however minimal. Family, friends, and pets; movies and music; old furniture, toys and baby blankets (some of which we still keep) hold reservations in our memory and shape our composition as impressionable beings. Separation from these ideas can challenge our sense of security, and in some cases, anyone's refusal to understand or relate to them is insulting, since, in essence, they are who we are. We beg to be loved before we pass on and remembered when we do.

Despite this, I wouldn't say it's insensitive at all to forget or fail to feel like others do. There is no reason to feel moved by the plight of the starving or homeless or others who are hurt by the loss of a loved one. It is only insensitive to deny someone the right to such feelings.

On another note, my uncle was walking the old family dog, Duke, many years ago shortly before I was born. While stopped at a cross walk for a light change, a vehicle purposely skipped over the curb to hit the dog. In a way, they killed him. Even though he was saved from dying that day, he became so vicious and mistrusting that they had to put him to sleep. Cars suck and people are asshole.

Also, I think that kiwi movie is the best short I've ever seen. Where are its awards?

You don't have to jerk a tear whenever something you know is sad is parading in front of your face. If you can tolerate the suffering, then good for you. Everyone is human. There are just too many combinations of emotional status, events, and upbringing to justify what the word "human" really means.

So don't say someone isn't human for not crying. They are not crying because they can withstand the blows. Also, death isn't part of life in this case. This death was caused by a force other than the natural (i.e. sickness, old age, etc). For this poor fellow, its death wasn't part of its life. It was merely a shortcut to the end of his/hers.

that was a sad movie, yes.

i mean, i've seen sadder things, but for SOME weird reason, i cried. i wasn't like, weep-sob-gnashing of teeth. but i did cry, with like tears and sniffling.

it was just really emotionally charged, i guess.
