Starting this topic made me think. Who actually celebrates Easter? I mean officially. For example goes to church and has a religious view on it.
Obviously, it is a religious celebration but not many people remember that. I myself am not very religious. Eating all that chocolate does make you feel terribly sick. What does everyone do on easter?

I do, I'm a Christian. The day of Christ's resurrection is the biggest day of the year for us.

I plan on celebrating tomorrow by playing an extra-long worship/jam session with the church band and eating Easter brunch till there's none left. 8-)

I don't actually go to church for Easter. My mom insists that she is going to take my brother and sister (who know nothing about Christianity) to a mass tomorrow morning, but I doubt that she'll go through with it. I am a Christian; however, I am just way too lazy to get up, get nicely dressed, and spend a couple hours praying.

I totally believe in a dead guy just getting up and walking out of his cave, though. Seriously.

:P

I'm a Christian but I don't celebrate Easter religiously. In fact, I barely celebrate it commercially. It was fun when I was a lil' kid and mom and dad hid the eggs all over the house and we had to look for them. But nowadays this doesn't happen anymore, and I'm not a major chocolate fan, anyway. People give me chocolate eggs and, if it wasn't for my parents and the people who live with me, they would probably stay untouched in the fridge for a long, long time.

The true nice thing about Easter nowadays is that my friends and I play "Secret Egg", in which each participant choose the egg they want to get and pick somebody else's name. Then a few days later we all gather at a room or something and describe the person whose name we picked. People have to guess who that person is and then we present them with the egg. My secret friend was very specific in his egg: he wants any egg that is not crunchy. >.>" I'm having a tough time to find a nice one, it would've been a lot easier if he requested a specific egg from a specific brand, but noooo.

I'll probably be eating (or trying to eat) the egg my parents are going to give me. Oh yes, and I'll be studying for my upcoming exams. Fun.

I always go to mass on Easter Sunday. I don't agree with a lot of Christian things, but I beleive in Jesus, so I find it necesary to go to mass on Easter Sunday, even if not any other day of the year.

Anyways, I don't support the whole "commercial easter" thing. The "Easter Bunny?" What the heck. It bothers me that people just jump on any oppurtunity to buy people things, in the circumstance that they will get things back. I ask my parents not to do the whole "Easter Bunny" thing, they say that its for my sister, but, she doesn't really care about the rest of the family. But, I don't want to spoil anybody's fun, happy easter psypokes!

Well, I am not a Christian (I am Muslim but still not religious at it) and I don't have any Christian friends. If I had any Christian friends, I maybe would celebrate Easter for fun. The egg-hunting sounds fun :)

Me too. I used to be Christian until I realised "hey, why make a book full of metaphors, when you may as well just write it in simple English?" I mean, up until the reformation, the Bible was still in Latin, so it's not as if everyone could access it.

But I'm not turning this into a rant against Christians though. ;)

However, what does annoy me is this: Easter is about Jesus' death and resurection. And yet, the iconic figure is of rabbits, and spring, and happy things that make me feel sick (mainly because they are made of chocolate, and I eat them) It's the same as Christmas. Jesus is being replaced by more up to date things. He is now large, red and hairy at christmas, and carries a sack over his shoulder, at easter, he becomes a pink and white rabbit and at Divali - oh, wrong religion...

When I was younger, we had an easter egg hunt in the forest. It was fun until this bloke told us we were littering on his land. :(

But, regardless, Happy Easter to all those who follow it.

I believe Easter and Christmas in the beginning were all heathen traditions taken up by Christians as part of their religion. I think that's why we have all these iconic things today that has nothing to do with Christianity, like, Easter bunnies/eggs and Santa (Sorry, Father Christmas ;) ).

Norway has the longest Easter vacation in the world, I think. We have one week PLUS 1st and 2nd Day, meaning seven whole working days (or six, on some occations). I love Easter because of this, and of course because of the egg hunt we sometimes have. When I was younger, I lived on an island, and parents used to hide tons of eggs around it. We seriously searched all dat, lol ;)

If you're not religious, like me, Easter can be great. Besides, you get more free time. For Psypokes, that is

Happy Easter Psypokers :D

HAPPY EGG DAY, EVERYONE!

Seriously though. For me, Easter's never been something more than going around, collecting eggs and eating chocolate until I get a stomach ache (for some reason my stomach's always super sensitive this time of year so it only takes a few of those tiny chocolate eggs). We go have a big dinner at my grandma's house while she complains that we took too long at my Avo's house (Grandma in Portuguese) saying hello and Happy Easter.

I'm not religious, and I've reached the level of ignorance when I actually have to agree with something said on SOUTH PARK. Something about the Bible is only stories that help people make choices and focus on the most important values a human can have, but it shouldn't be taken as seriously as some people take it today.

Well... I get a four day weekend, so it's not ALL bad.

lol. I'm Christian, and I believe in God and that the bible isn't just a book about how to be a good person. ;[ I'm not really crazy about it, I never go to church and whatnot.

I don't celebrate Easter really, but I get a bunch of candy, so I'm fine.

There are currently 3 small chocolate bunnies and a giant chocolate bunny, waiting to be eaten.

I don't believe in the Easter Bunny, but I pretend I do so my little sister doesn't get crushed. :[

Well, anyway, I was a Christian by birth (my entire family on my mom's side is), but I prefer to be classified as agnostic. I do follow with my family's traditions of Easter mass and such, though.

I just pretended to believe in the Easter Bunny until I was eleven. I like chocolate and marshmallow peeps. I'm an only child, so muwahah I don't have to act like I believe in something I don't.

Well, I have to go to my aunt's soon, however reluctantly. Nothing to do over there, and I "break" the computer every time I go. Sure, turning the computer off all the way is breaking it, suuuuure.

I am Christian and do believe in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. I am not the most religious person thought. I am forced to go to church every week, and am forced to be an altar server. (Yes, it really sucks) But it is a religious holiday for me. I told my mom that I didn't believe in the Easter bunny. I think she almost cried. But im13 now and need to “grow up”. I knew it wasn't real since I was 8, but hey, I gotta be nice to my parents. (Apparently my parents think I’m growing up too fast.) :)

Ah Easter... This is the time of year when Jesus rises from the grave and comes back as a rabbit that hides coloured eggs.

I'm not really religious as such. I don't go to church or anything. But if you ask my dad I'm Catholic V_V

I used to love Easter when I was little but now its lost its magic... As soon as I turned 10 I started to question why a rabbit had eggs... Today was fun. I was at Krytens all day and we played on his Wii nearly all day. I forgot it was Easter until this morning.

I do celebrate Easter, in both the commercial and the religious sense. I'm Christian, and I did go to church this morning. Actually, I went 3 times, because I had to run the sound board. I'm not going to lie though; I slept through most of the second and third services, because I stayed awake for the first one already.

I also ate way too much food for breakfast at church (little old Lutheran ladies are the best cooks in the world, by the way), and then proceeded to head over to my grandparents for lunch, and ate too much again.

I am a Christian and today as any other year, my mum said we were going to Sunday mass but we didn't. This morning I ate a whole easter egg a few cadbury creme eggs and a few small lindt eggs too. I honestly thought I'd throw up. Then I went to my aunts house for lunch, they had a barbeque so I ate pork for lunch. I also completed the 4th temple (Arbiter's Grounds) on Zelda Twilight Princess (The Wii version) for my lazy cousin.

Happy Easter Psypokians!

Don't call pagans "heathens." Most of us don't particularly appreciate it. And, obviously, I'm not celebrating Easter religiously today (I burned incense for Ostara a few weeks ago instead), although today is both the Christian Easter (my dad is Catholic) and the Orthodox Easter (my mom is Greek Orthodox) and my parents didn't attend church either. All I can say is I'm glad I don't have to go to Queens and smell the entire borough cooking baby lambs in their backyards.
