No really, how has it? Has it changed you in ANY way? I'll edit my own answer in later, I want to see what you think that being a member has done for you.

Eh... I don't think it has changed me in any way.

I used to type like this, but now I type properly, which makes things a lot easier to read.

I think that's the only way really, and it's more fun that typing "hu haz da noo pokemanz gaem??1?"

I think everyone deserves a chance to change, with help from other members.

When you are bitter to all your friends, and curse a WHOLE bunch, I think you've changed, no?

Really I've learned how to Roleplay alot better. I now use my anger by channeling it through my typing. That's about it.

<font color="999999">Well, I think joining psypoke made my english get better  and it is a good thing to go online, eighther chat or forum in here to talk about stuff with people that likes to talk about... stuff.

And I also guess that this join made me more busy, since I created a fanfic just for this site :o, and the thing that I hope to join a megamart or open a shop in here.

My command of English is better now. And I knew a lot more about things and people and short forms. Psypoke is not the first forum I joined, but it is the first one I am active in.

My spelling and grammar has improved drmatically since March 2005. I used to be like:

my team is ownage but i like cookies

Noticing that there is no capital on 'My', the 'i' on its needs to be a capital and there is no full stop.

I've also become more mature on one side of me, i've a hugely immature comedy side and a more serious side.

I conduct myself better thanks to being here, so to say. =]

XD

Anyway, since I joined, I've become a bit less cynical about people. I've learnt that there are some kids my age who aren't stupid, ignorant or rude.

I've also discovered a new passion, prehaps even a talent, in the form of graphics art. Before March, I had no idea of any skills I could use for a job in the future. Now, I dunno...

Psypokes has made me realise that the world isn't inhabited by chavs, as I thought I was the only sixteen year old that still liked Pokemon.

Now, I have learnt that there are intelligent younger people, and also, Pokemon is not dead!! Quite foolish of me to have thought that they would have kept on bringing the Pokemon games to England if I was the only one playing them...

Yeah, the typing. Yadda yadda.
I've matured my bit as well. When I first joined, I remember being a complete idiot to the realm of a forum community. I can now type with barely any typos (not serious at that, probably minor mixing up of letters like "chekc" instead of "check"), and I can type a lot faster. Also, I don't abuse the smilies, it's a :P or :D usually, not a long procession of  or  (check a couple of my early posts for excellent examples)
I've learned to act generally more mature, and think about what I'm typing before I post it. Usually, it's me saying something and immediately wishing I hadn't said it. But I can review what I've wrote and decide to take anything out that would bite me in the back later.
Also, by the content of this post, droning on about how I've matured over the time I first was here.

It hasn't changed me an awful lot. Other than the fact that I can type, like, 10x faster than I used to. I guess I have become a little more wordy since I first joined. I used to have plain 5 word posts like; I like Alakazam, It's cool. Now I have good sized posts. Not long ones, but long enough not to be called spam.

Well, it changed me sorta I guess. It made me not want to get too close of a friend with another member because I always know that eventually they'll just vanish when I'm not logged on. Yes, I know I'm a pessimist...

Not mentioning any names, but some people who have posted in this thread forgot one very important thing. They learned that you don't need to post 50+ times per day. ¬_¬;;

As for me, I haven't really changed much... I joined when I was 16, which is probably older than most people who are posting in this thread. Psypoke hasn't really convinced me to stop chat speak, because I stopped that before I joined. I did used to make those retarded anime smilies (XD, XP, ^_^, =^.^=) ALL the time though. I also said "kool" or "kewl" instead of "cool."

Since I joined Psypoke, I have gained a bit of knowledge in a few different things. First, I didn't know about EVs/DVs etc. before I joined. After lurking the forums for the first few months I was here, and rarely posting, I started to understand the concept.

Another thing is, ithildin. It's an ircd (I also learned the meaning of that, too!) and is much different than what I was originally used to. When I first joined Psypoke and went to the DarkMyst IRC network for the first time, it was hard to adjust, because I was so used to unreal ircd. After learning some commands, and meeting my friend swift53 (nfield), I became more familar with it, and eventually became a helpop, and a few weeks later, an IRCop. Without Psypoke, I wouldn't be at DarkMyst, and I wouldn't have the IRC knowledge I have now.

I suppose I can't say anything that's already been said...my typing grammar, accuracy and speed has improved dramatically since joining, I also learned a ton about the pokemon gameboy games ( i.e., EV training etc. ) and Psypokes
introduced me to IRC which I have also learned a ton about. I'm glad to meet people even though I know I will never really "know" them, it's good to have people to talk to.

Psypokes was my first forum I joined that I take seriously, so My expirences here have taught me how to act on my others. Otherwise, I d probably be like "ZOMG GRMPIG ZUCKS CLYDOL IZ WAY BETTR BYEEE!!!!!!!!!1!!! *SEVERAL LINES LATER* !!!!!!!!" bUT NOW i RELIZE THAT TYPING WITH ALL CAPS IS just noobish. Oops, forgot to turn caps lock off
heh heh.
Nothing will ever change my huge amount of lame jokes.
Also, I learned all about EV's,/DV's, Happiness, and Shinies (and right as I read that section, I encounter my first shiny ever. yay for tangela.)

And of couse, I relize that I'm not the only person who still likes pokemon. We just like to talk and plan our deeds in secrect online.

Seriously though, I'm (slightly) more mature now, and I guess my grammar has improved and stuff. Not much else.

Along with learning how to hate, I also learned how to torment Pelligargetic by listening to a certain song over and over. ^.^
And I also learned, that sometimes someone who's a great friend on the internet can vanish at any time. :/

Psypoke was the first forum (but the only one I'm trully active) I joined, so I learned a lot about forum rules (I've broken quite a few in the beggining), forum language (like "thread", "necromancy", "stickifying") and chat speaking. For instance, only after sometime I found out what LOL, OMG, ORLY? and those anime smilies meant.

And I can't say my English didn't improve. In fact, this community has helped me a lot, specially when I have the oportunity to chat with some members. It's actually pretty funny when I try to roughly translate things in Portuguese (because I feel like I need to quickly reply to someone's comment in a chat room) and I end up getting something embarrassing. This doesn't happen often though; most of the time is just me saying something that makes no sense at all. I still make lots of typos and I have serious problems with prepositions, heh.

I would never take anything anyone's ever said in the internet serious if it wasn't for this community (or perhaps any community I would get so involved with). But I've also learned to NOT take everything serious. I could never imagine myself making so many foreigners e-friends, and actually being so close to them. True, this is always tEh intERwebzz, but I can't deny the fact that I eventually miss them when I stay away for too much time.

Personality-wise, I don't think I've changed much. There was a slight maturity change when I became a moderator, but that doesn't count. I'm still the same old silly person I've always been. ;P

The biggest way in which I've changed is that I've realized how many different people I've made friends with. I learnt new internet words-though I'm STILL trying to figure out what LOL means-it's amazing how many different people from different countries I've met, & I enjoy meeting them. I've learnt more stuff about other countries here than in school.

Like Galar, Psypoke's the first online forum that I became active in. I guess I've learned some netiquette, quite a number of internet slangs, and overall my English has improved somewhat.

I've also made many "online friends", if that's an appropriate term. It's definitely nice to know people such as Kiwi webmasters, a Brazilian in Med School, an Israeli studying film, and students from all sorts of education systems and cultures, just to quote a few examples. Overall my knowledge of the world around me has broadened somewhat as a result.
