Juan replaces Wallace as the new leader of Sootopolis City Gym. Wallace has since become the champion of the Hoenn League at Ever Grande City.
Scott appears every so often around the world. He's scouting for good trainers. Go see him after you've got 7 silver badges from the Battle Frontier and he'll give you a Lansat Berry. When you get 7 gold badges, he'll give you a Starf Berry.
Sonny can be found in the Battle Frontier. He's wants to become a Pokemon Trainer and looks to you for some advice.
POKEMON EMERALD IMPORTANT PEOPLE
The Legendary Top Breeder will tell you information concerning your Pokemon's DVs, and is found in one of the houses near the Battle Frontier Pokemon Center. Firstly, he will rate your Pokemon's total DV count:
- "This one, overall, I would describe as having better-than-average ability"
- "This one, overall, I would say is quite impressive in ability"
- "This one, overall, this Pokémon has quite excellent abilities"
- "This one, overall, I would say is wonderfully outstanding in ability!"
Then he will rate the highest individual DV:
- "That stat is relatively good"
- "That stat is quite impressive"
- "That stat is outstanding!"
- "It's flawless! A thing of perfection!"
 
These ladies appear in Lilycove's Pokemon Center. Each of them will ask for a certain thing:
- Favour Lady asks for a type of item.
- Quiz Lady asks a quiz question, and will give you a prize if you get it right.
- Contest Lady asks for a PokeBlock depending on what Pokemon she has with her.
These ladies swap between two catridges when you mix records.
The Pokemon Psychic claims to be able to speak with your Pokemon, and is found in one of the houses by the Battle Frontier Pokemon Center. This girl will tell you the style of battle that your Pokemon prefers when you use it in the Battle Palace. A Pokemon will have different battling styles depending on its Nature and whether its current HP is normal or critical.
