Verdict: Even before she evolved, Chansey was a beast with massive Special and HP. Boltbeam lets Chansey hit every Pokemon in RBY for at least neutral damage, Thunder Wave helps slow down her opponents, and Softboiled lets Chansey stay in the battle to be a pest for much longer. The Ice move is really up to the user, but Chansey has the ability to stick around for a long time and, thus, might be better suited for Ice Beam's higher PP. Counter lets Chansey laugh as she destroys Tauros and Persian with their own attacks, the Screens make her even harder to take down, and Psychic's Special drop is always vicious. Really, Chansey is one of the top picks in RBY, just like Blissey is in later generations.
