Other Options: Mega Drain, Barrier, Mimic, Confuse Ray (Tradeback)

Verdict: Despite being Poison, Tentacruel gets a lot more to make up for that than most of the other Poisons in RBY, i.e. 338 Special against Psychics and Barrier against Grounds. Tentacruel is also one of the fastest Wrap users in the game, and can pump up his Attack for it (and Hyper Beam) with Swords Dance, though, as always, you might not like that strategy. Which is fine, because Tentacruel actually has other options to fall back on: Surf, Blizzard and Mega Drain, which allows Tentacruel to take on other Waters, provide good type coverage, and Mimic always has the potential to be helpful. Tentacruel was one of the few Poisons in RBY who didn't completely suck, despite his typing, and, while not exactly a top tier contender, he is a decent choice.
