Verdict: Ever wonder why Primeape always looks so angry? It's probably because Gamefreak screwed him over massively. First of all, he's a Fighting Pokemon, and, if you know anything about RBY, you know that's not a good thing. Primeape also lacks Swords Dance (only getting Meditate through tradeback), Slash (despite getting Scratch but not Swords Dance) and Earthquake and he has pretty bad stats other than Attack and Speed. He also has a bunch of unusable Special moves, including Thunderbolt and the elemental punches. All he can hope to do is Screech something and try to take it down with his physical Attacks... which doesn't work so well. Alas, Primeape, for you are awesome, but sadly not useful at all here.
