Verdict: In RBY, Butterfree lacks Compound Eyes and, despite being one of the coolest Bug Pokemon ever, is decidedly awful while he's not beating up the likes of in-game opponents such as Brock. Learning Psychic and Mega Drain sounds good in theory, but Butterfree just isn't strong enough to really go out there and beat things up with those moves. Still, double powdering has its merits, and Butterfree is still teh awesum in my book. :(
