POKEMON BATTLE REVOLUTION

The first Pokemon installment on the Wii follows in the footsteps of previous console games. It also has the honor of becoming the first Wii game utilizing the Wi-Fi functions of the Wii (for battling). Put this with its connectivity to the DS games of Diamond and Pearl, and you have a somewhat versatile game.
Pokemon Battle Revolution unfortunately lacks the types of depth put into the previous games. It has no mini-games and no RPG element. To sum it up, all you can do is battle and shop. Battling takes on many forms, though. It can be done with Diamond and Pearl games and the DS, with extra Wii remotes and Friend Passes, on Wi-Fi with random matchups or Friend Codes, and with the main Colosseum Mode.
In Colosseum Mode, all you basically do is challenge the ten available Colosseums and earn points by winning. With these points, you can buy things to send to Diamond/Pearl via Mystery Gift or things to decorate and dress up your trainer. Battle Passes are used to keep track of all these things. You can use a set of rental Pokemon (Rental Pass) or a team copied from Diamond/Pearl (Custom Pass). You can also save the passes to the Wii remote and transfer them to another game or system (which then becomes a Friend Pass).
