I hope everyone enjoyed their New Year's festivities. With a new year comes new content:
The Move Tutors Guide covers in detail the aspects of the move remembering/deleting/tutoring individuals in the game.
The Interactive Sinnoh World Map does just what it says on the tin. It's a fully interactive map of the region, including Pokemon data for cities and routes.
That's all for this update; not anything earthshattering, I know, but the Sinnoh Map has been one of our most requested items. There's still a few more project currently underway. Two of them should be wrapping up relatively soon, and there's a few more that'll be ready after them.
Over this winter break, we've noticed that we've been getting more hits again. That's good. They're still not as impressive as they are in the summer, but better than the lull we've been going through as of late. However, it seems that over the past few days someone's been trying to DDoS us. You may have noticed the site slowed down and died for a couple of minutes about an hour ago. All seems to be well now; all systems are back to normal, and no harm was done (aside from about 3 minutes of downtime).
And now for something completely different; let's have some new stuff. First, for those of you who are a fan of contests and ribbons, check out the DP Ribbons Guide which shows all the ribbons you can earn, how to get them, and what they're good for. (I could use a spa day myself, I think.)
Also, we are VERY happy to announce a new affiliate. GTS Plus is a high-quality Diamond and Pearl GTS site. The site is well-made and features an excellent system for requesting trades and granting the requests of others. We really like the system these guys have, so make sure to check them out next time you want to make a trade.

Getting back into the swing of things for the year, I've got another handy little guide for you.
The Poffin Guide includes everything you need to know about Poffin making in your solo escapades. But what if you're working together with friends? Well, that's what the Poffin Calculator is for, of course! The guide is meant to be comprehensive yet simple, so make sure to make good use of it.
Well, at least for our friends down south of the equator. January 12, 2008 is the 40th birthday of Junichi Masuda, the man behind the music of Pokemon. He invites all of you to play Diamond and Pearl on his birthday, and if you've been good (haven't been messing with your clock), you might just find a surprise waiting for you at Snowpoint.
In other news, a few things around the site. Firstly, if you check The Poketch Guide you'll note that we've included some pictures for the Tchs so that you can see what they're like.
Second up, we're proud to present a little thing we've dubbed the Liberry, our full guide to all the Berries in the world of Sinnoh.

After a fair bit of work, a good bit of testing, and lots of headdesking over mysterious issues, we are now VERY proud to announce that the PsyDex has yet another new feature. Some of you may have noticed it over the past few days as we've been working on it.
Before I get to it, though, there's something you need to know. In order for this to work correctly, you MUST update to the latest version of Flash Player (that's 9.0.115.0). If you have an older version of Flash, you will have problems. To check what version you have, please go here. To download the newest version of flash, go here. Once you have version 9.0.115.0 or newer, you're all set.
So, what is this change? We proudly present The CryDex. If you look below the regular and shiny pictures, where there used to be just Footprint and Body Style, you'll see that Cry and a little play button have been added. Go ahead and click it.
All 493 Pokemon's cries have been added to the PsyDex. This feature is powered by Flash, and if you DO have an old version, all the Sinnoh Pokemon's cries (387-493) will sound fast and high-pitched.
If you're sure you've got a fully updated browser and copy of flash but still experience problems, feel free to Contact Us and provide some feedback.
"The forums are back!!111!1111!!1!!1oneoneeleventy"
You may have noticed that our forums were closed all day Friday and Saturday. Last night I completed the initial install of phpBB3.0 and officially reopened the forums.
There's still a lot of stuff to be ironed out, so please make use of the Global Announcement to post any issues you're having. Classes resume tomorrow so I may be a little busy over the next few days, but I'll be working on them as I can.
My apologies for not posting this yesterday, but I was a bit busy with the first day of classes.
In a little slip-up on the part of the Super Smash Bros. Brawl crew, three extra characters for the newest Smash Bros. game were revealed the other day. The guys over at Joystiq have the full video that has since been edited. As you can see, Lucario and Jigglypuff are visible in the original footage. Ness is too, but I think you all know which one matters to me.

Before I start quoting another song, there's just a little announcement I want to make here. Site work for the past week or so has been mostly bug fixing, primarily with the upgraded Forums which seem to be pretty much all taken care of.
I'm also letting you know that 18 hours from the time of this posting (9am January 29th, PST) GameSpy will be doing some system-wide maintenance that will take our site offline. The outage should only last about 15 minutes and all should be well by 10am PST.
So, don't freak out if the site and forums aren't working tomorrow morning. :)

I've spent most of my day here working on more Forums things. Mostly aesthetic things today. I found a bunch more tables, like the memberlist or staff page, that looked weird. I also went through and messed with the look of the User Control Panels.
Also, you may have noticed that PsyBlog posts are happening again. I forgot to rework all of that when we switched the forums over, and it wasn't until the other day that someone pointed it out to me. Sorry about that. They should be all back to normal now.
Finally, the terribly out-of-date Other Games Main Page that lists all the "Other Games" has finally been updated to match the menu on the left. Sorry about that.

As you may have noticed if you read the blog post about the last update, I've been working on the PsyBlogs a bit. Not only can you add comments now (which seems to be going over really well), but I've reformatted things a bit too.
You'll notice that no more than 5 blogs display at once by default. There's a nice little link at the very bottom to display all the old ones and switch back to only five. Also, you get a preview when you go to make a comment. Yay!
And, what's that on the right side of this update down here? If there's any feedback you'd like to leave regarding any specific update made to the site, now there's a perfect place to do so!
So many updates. Don't mean to flood you all, but there's been quite a bit of work going on lately. Mostly backend stuff, but there's a few more changes you can see. Most noticeably you'll see that comments on the PsyBlogs are now collapsed by default. You can expand and collapse them at will. Yay!
Oh, and with a little luck, the Talkback posts should be fully automatic now. :)
And another update this week. Hooray. I've been working on the PsyBlogs again. First, you'll notice that the URL for comments looks a lot neater now.
Oh, and while you're at it, you'll notice that if you're logged in on the forums, you don't have to log in to leave a comment anymore! So, if you've got the forums set to remember you, you shouldn't have to worry about logging in to leave comments anymore! And, if you sign in to leave a comment, you're automatically logged into the forums!
Don't forget to make use of the Talkback if you have any problems.
It's been a busy and interesting week here. The guys at Gamespy have gone and upgraded the servers. (Yay!) This upgrade doesn't do much for you, but it's good for us.
What IS good for you, however, is that we've been busy upgrading things too. Finally, I am proud to be able to present you with the new Damage Calculator. Thanks to lots of hard work by several people, we've finally managed to rebuild the thing from the ground up for the new generation of games. Sorry it took so long, but I hope it's worth it.
If there are any bugs you find with it, leave a note on the Talkback.
Some of you may know, others may not, and some may just not care; a game is to be released in the US this weekend. In celebration of this game's release, I'd like to present you with our newest section of the site. Will there be more pages added to it? I guess you'll just have to wait and see what happens....
... and haven't forgotten to eat anything since Sunday morning, that is. For those of you who have been playing Super Smash Bros. Brawl non-stop, I hope you're enjoying the game. I've updated the Smash Bros section with pages for Brawl and the Characters. The missing pictures will be added once we have official ones to work with.
Any other problems you notice, please leave a note on the Talkback. Enjoy!
I hope everyone's enjoyed their St. Patty's day. That's not the only special occasion for today though. One year ago today, the Lite Four and myself were appointed webmasters. It's been quite a trip.
To celebrate, I've got some new pages for you. Those of you more familiar with Diamond and Pearl will know about the Battle Tower. We've compiled a list of the Trainers in the tower, all of the Pokemon that any of the various trainers can have, and a list of all available Pokemon by trainer.
I have one last thing for you as well. We've been getting emails about it for months. We've been working on it for months. To tell you the truth, there's still a few things we have to add to it to really "complete" it. But, it does work. We do have a Diamond and Pearl Walkthrough available. My apologies for the fact that in the later parts we're missing some trainer info and PokeMart info; it'll be there soon. In the mean time, check it out. It does have everything you need to get through the game.
No major updates or additions to report at this time. I have, however, been spending the past several days working on all sorts of little things around the site. I've mostly been going over old bug reports that got filed away to be "dealt with later" and, well, dealing with them. It hasn't been anything major, just a lot of little things here and there.
For the most part, it's been clearing up explanations in the PsyLab guides. If there are other things that anyone finds in the guides that you feel could use some clarification, either drop a note in the Talkback or send an email. Nice simple little bugs and typos are always good for quick work between classes and things.
In addition to that, you'll notice that I've kinda started playing around with the layout of this page here. I know it looks a little cramped up top now for anyone still running 1024x768. I'll see what I can do to try and clean it up a bit. Any feedback on that is also appreciated.
Finally, just a reminder to check out the Smash Bros. Section and the DP Walkthrough. Both seem to be well-received so far. Thanks for the patience and the support.
That's right, we've managed to secure an EXCLUSIVE interview with the head of the production team for the upcoming Pokemon Opal release!
Mr. Eru Roraito didn't have much to say as we talked to him about his role, but here's a transcript of what went down:
PP: How did you get involved with the project? ER: Actually, I'm not entirely sure. I've never actually played Pokemon. PP: Personnel were chosen at random, then? ER: Probably something like that. I'm new here. PP: You're quite experienced though, I'm sure. ER: After all this, I hope so! PP: Pokemon Opal is the 3rd game of this generation. What are you going to do different? ER: Right now, we don't know. We're trying to figure out what we have to work with. PP: I see! So this will be more of a new perspective than a new game? ER: Looks like it might end up that way. Same game in the end, really. PP: For sure. But there's bound to be some special features to justify the purchase? ER: Oh, I don't know. I was just told to be quick and profitable. PP: Oh. You must know a lot about game design to do that, then? ER: Little to none. But I have initiative, and most importantly friends! PP: So this won't end well, will it? ER: Ah, probably not. PP: Looks like that's all we need then. Thank you for your time. ER: Likewise, glad to help.
Remember, you saw it here on Psypoke first; the breaking news about the upcoming Opal version!
I'm not sure how to say this. I'm currently looking at an email that I never expected to receive. It would seem that our posting of the interview earlier this afternoon was in violation of a non-disclosure confidentiality act. Nintendo has ordered that we not only remove the interview from our site, but also remove all content related to their copyrights; that means everything.
For all those who have been with us for these past years, thank you. We're glad to have been here, and only regret that we can't continue to do so.
I hope you all enjoyed your April Fools day. I know we all did. Don't worry, the site isn't closing. No, we didn't interview anyone. And the forums are, in fact, not going haywire. Here's a recap of what we did:
1) All over the site and the forums, we added a picture. Either you got a Seaking breaking through the top of the page (YEAH SEAKING!) or a little dancing Psyduck/Slowpoke, which we've dubbed Psypoke. 2) The forums were all messed up. Forums were in the wrong order. Some weren't listed at all, some showed up more than once. Oh, and even though it said "General Discussion," it would take you to "Role Playing." And every time you reloaded the index page, it re-randomized it all. Double the mixup. 3) We posted our EXCLUSIVE interview with a member of the staff developing the next game. If you'll notice, when you read down the list of questions and answers, they spell out "Happy April Fools All." In addition, the name of the person interviewed was completely faked - a cookie for you if you know where I got it from. 4) Following that, I posted a notice that the site had been ordered to be shut down. After 15 seconds, you found yourself back at the regular index page.
So, what did you like? What didn't you like? Let me know what worked well and what didn't; it'll just make things more fun next year.
For those who haven't read my latest blog, I apologize again for the lack of updates recently. I've been busy with schoolwork and managed to get myself sick. I'm still not back on my feet entirely, so this update won't be anything major.
I've managed to comb through and make a few more little bug fixes; mostly typos or things that weren't very clearly explained. Feel free to keep sending more in to us to get fixed; the little things are easy enough to work on any time.
I'm also just going to throw out there that I've got about a month of school left. After that, I should be able to spend a little more time working on the site, so updates should start happening more often again in the beginning of May.
Sorry things have been so quiet still. I'm pretty well back to full health, but I'm still busy. I have, however, had the time to make some fixes to the Smash Bros Section, specifically to the Brawl Characters Page.
I hope to be able to get a little more done as I move into finals soon, but I can't make any promises. Thanks for putting up with me.

No. No one likes Mondays.
Over the past week, most of the work for the site has been more little bug changes here and there. Keep sending those reports in.
This weekend I also went and added Frost's explanation for IV Inheritance to the Breeding Guide in the PsyLab. Yay Frost!
Oh, and I went and upgraded the forums to the most recent version of phpBB as well. Hooray upgrades.
My finals week has begun. One more week until I get to start working full time instead of studying/hanging out/going to class full time. Hopefully that means more updates. (It will, don't worry.)
This update is mostly just to say that I've pretty much finished settling back into things at home and will hopefully be able to get back to some more regular updating of the site soon. Hooray!
In addition to that, a quick recap of what's been going on around here lately. There've been numerous little fixes all over the place; mostly typos or poorly phrased descriptions. Thanks much for sending those little things in; keep it up.
Also, I've begun working on a little project that someone suggested in the forums. I'm not entirely sure exactly how I want to go about it, so when I get it working in a few days, your feedback will be much appreciated. Stay tuned to find out just what I'm up to.
Speaking of the forums, the upgrade to phpBB 3.0.1 seems to have gone over smoothly. If anyone's having trouble with the forums, just drop me an email and I'll try to sort it out.
Both the listing at the top of this page and the dropdown menu on the blogs themselves will ignore all the Talkback posts in their ordering now. This means only actual user-written blog posts will bump the name to the top of the list. So, from now on, if my name shows up at the top of the list, it means I actually wrote a blog. Same goes for all the other admins, obviously.
In addition to that, you'll notice that the Talkback link on this page now lets you know how many comments have been posted about that update already. Yay.
And with that, I bid you all a happy start to the summer; good luck on any finals you all still have outstanding.
Ah summer. Hooray road trips. Maybe I'll even stick pics of my escapades on my Psyblog after I get back. To avoid the inevitable question, I'm making my way to Anime Central.
But that's not what you're here for. You wanna know what news I have to post. No site updates at the moment (aside from the standard-issue bug fixes).
Those of you living in the USA will be pleased to know (if you don't already, that is) that your local Toys-R-Us store will be giving out Darkrai on May 31st and June 1st.
Also, those of you who bother to import Japanese magazines will already know this, but the latest issue of Coro Coro is supposedly dropping hints about a Pokemon Platinum, the 3rd game of the 4th generation. There's not terribly much known yet, but as more news breaks, I'll keep collecting it for updates.
That's all I've got for now. Next update won't be until next week when I get back home, unless someone else cares to post one in my absence. For those of you just heading into or finishing up your finals this week, best of luck.

Yep, back to the song lyric updates for now, because I'm lazy and always listening to music. You've probably heard the song, even if you don't recognize it.
First and foremost on a personal note, I'm back home. I'll write up a blog of my adventures eventually here. Picked a good time to come back; plenty to work on. But enough of that, you're here for updates.
I've been tweaking a bit of backend stuff. Some of it has just been fixing little things that have bothered me, others are all prep work for the upcoming Platinum version. (Hooray for a site that practically adapts itself to a new version!)
Speaking of Platinum, there's a simple little page there with what we know so far. That'll be the page to keep checking for info as we get more and more of it. For your convenience, I'll even drop a link into the announcements header at the top of this page in a minute here. As the news on Platinum continues to develop, I'll be doing my best to keep things categorized and organized nicely.
In addition to that, I've been tweaking the PsyBlogs again. They're so much fun to play around with. I've got a few other ideas bouncing around in my head as to what to do with them. If any of them pan out, I'll let you know.
For now, the only change made to the site for Platinum outside of the Platinum Section is in the PicDex which has been updated to include the known pictures of Giratina's Origin Forme.
And finally, there is one other project currently in the works. All I can say right now is that it's something that's rather overdue, but now is a good time to get it done. Keep watching for that in the future.

Another update so soon! GASP!
I know you'd all like me to give you some new bit of info on Platinum and all, but there hasn't really been much of a development of any REAL news lately.
That being said, those of you who check other sites regularly may have noticed that last weekend, a picture of Shaymin's "Sky Forme" exploded onto the internet. For those of you that saw this but managed to miss the real memo; it was a hoax. It was a very well made and beautifully executed hoax by our friends at veekun; please don't send us emails about why we haven't included it in our Platinum Section.
Now, what I CAN update you on is this. Though it is a bit overdue, many of you may be pleased to know that we've just launched a completely revamped Pokemon Snap Section in our Other Games Section. You may recall there was a smaller version of this earlier this year. This one has been completely redone, so those of you playing Snap on the Wii's Virtual Console should find it useful.
Finally, just a reminder for those of you living in the US. This weekend, Saturday the 31st and Sunday the 1st, stop by your local Toys R Us store between 12pm and 4pm with your DS and a copy of Diamond or Pearl to pick up a Darkrai for your game. It's limited to one per game, so if you have two copies, or one of each, bring them both and stand in line twice. I'm sure you could make a good trade for your second one.
And with that, I'm off to work on other projects. In the event that you see the site acting oddly in the next few days, give it a minute and try again; I'll probably be reworking some stuff this weekend.
First off, still nothing of significance to report as far as Platinum goes. We'll still keep our eyes out for anything of interest, and once it's been confirmed by a reputable source, you'll find it there in the Platinum Section.
As far as the rest of the site goes, I've been fixing more bugs. I've been focusing on going over content for a lot of our older stuff. Once I've gotten a few more things taken care of I'll post a list of all the things changed.
Following the re-re-release of our Snap Section a little while ago, the PicDex has been updated accordingly, an example of which can be seen here.
Finally, I while back I mentioned that there may be another project in the works. I can now officially say that we're up to something. Should be fun.
And now in response to my last update, I DO have some news on Platinum.
As had been speculated for a while, Shaymin does have an alternate forme, the Sky Forme. The Japanese publication Famitsu Magazine published a nice little two-page spread about Platinum, including some only slightly obstructed Sugimori art of Sky Forme Shaymin.
There are a few other pictures from the spread as well on the Platinum page.
In other news, GameStop is hosting a Pokemon giveaway of their own after the success of the one by Toys 'R' Us just a few short weeks ago. The weekends of June 20th-22nd and 27th-29th, at participating stores, you can bring in your DS, Diamond or Pearl, and get a special edition Deoxys. It comes with a Nevermeltice and the following moves: Psycho Boost Zap Cannon Iron Defense Extremespeed
The only in-game requirement is that you have played the game long enough to have received your Pokedex. Check your local GameStop next time you're out and about to see if they're hosting the giveaway. Note that this Deoxys has moves from all of its formes. The GameStop promotional material shows an Attack Forme Deoxys.
That's all for now.
EDIT: I've added additional pictures to the Platinum page.
And on the heels of last night's update, I got to working on so much more.
First, as noted in an edit at the very end of yesterday's update, there are now more pictures on the Platinum page, including several screenshots and artwork for the new designs of both the male and female leads and the rival. Much thanks to skullkid for cleaning those up for me after my little hackjob of a cropping. To keep things orderly, the Screenshots are now on their own page.
Because it's been requested a few times, I've thrown together a page about Arceus's Plates and how that all works. I hope that clarifies the whole Multitype situation, as well as the Judgment attack and just why the whole Multitype ability is useful for getting attack multipliers.
You'll notice that on that page, I've specified the places above ground where you can find the Plates, including those found by the Dowsing App. Following that, I got to work on the Items Page in Diamond and Pearl and started clarifying all the entries for Dowsing App. Any item that can be found with the Dowsing App now has the location(s) at which it may be found listed right there, as opposed to the old system which simply indicated that the item COULD be found that way.
While there, you'll also notice that the Pickup column for the items has been expanded as well. It lists the levels and percentages at which you can find certain items. The Items List is now much more informative in that department. If you want a table of all the pickup items in Diamond and Pearl, I've thrown one of those together as well.
Next on the list, Frost has provided us with a detailed explanation of how Attack Priority works in the games. He's written up a nice little guide and a move table that shows how different moves and other situations can override sheer speed to determine who attacks first in a battle.
And with that, we're all going to get back to crossing things off that To-Do List of ours.
In all likelihood, this will be the last Platinum update for a while. The magazines that all the recent wave of information came from have all been looked over. Next month, there will be another issue and doubtless more info.
So, that being said, here's what I've got for you. I've reformatted and updated the Platinum Section main page. I've also added additional Screenshots to that page. My apologies, but anything less than a full-screen window in 1024x768 will have to horizontally scroll. But you shouldn't be working on a screen any smaller than that anyway.
Next up on the list, for no reason other than "it's always bothered me," I've expanded the PsyDex's menu to include the rest of the menu like the rest of the site. This should make things much easier to navigate, I hope.
In addition, there's been other work going on around the site. It's not QUITE done yet, but it should be soon. You can probably expect that next update.
Finally, don't forget to head out to your local GameStop this weekend and pick up a Deoxys. If you can't make it this week, you still have next weekend as well. Don't let this one pass you by.
And on a little personal note, I'm going on vacation again tomorrow, so the next time I update won't be for a week. I'm sure that if any big news DOES break in the next week, someone else will be happy to fill you all in on it.
Hey everyone, this week we're introducing a new game on the site - Amnesia Attack! Name all the Pokemon from a specific region within the time limit. We've made quizes for Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh. Enjoy!
So, about two weeks ago, I randomly got the urge to go through the TechDex descriptions in case any entries needed editing; this was mainly prompted by the fact that the old description for Pay Day didn't mention how much money would be made after the battle. I thought it would be a pretty easy process since I've already gone through the move descriptions on multiple occasions. Quick, simple job, right?
Wrong. I don't know what substances I was abusing when I looked over the move descriptions in the past, but so many of them needed work. I can't even mention any specific attacks because almost all of them had to be revised in at least some capacity. The old descriptions generally left out a lot of details, did not mention any exceptions for when and how a move works, were actually flat-out WRONG for many Diamond and Pearl moves (I think my favorite mistake was Judgment changing the user's type to match its held plate) and were grammatical nightmares that were written well over six years ago.
Well, the first element of this description overhaul is that almost every move description for all 467 Pokemon attacks in all four generations was written to have provide details and exceptions and, more importantly, correct mechanics and correct grammar. The entries have also been revised for consistency; we used to vary between using "to burn" or "of burning" to describe an attack that burns another Pokemon, and we also used to use words like "foe" or "opponent" for moves that could affect a Pokemon's partner in double battles (in which case "target" would be more appropriate), but I'm happy to report that those inconsistencies have all be ironed out.
We've also added convenient links to other pages throughout all of the entries. If a move's entry mentions another move, there's a link to the second move's page. If an ability is mentioned, there's a link to the abilities page. If a permanent or temporary status effect is mentioned, we have a link to the new page that runs down Status Effects and other annoying conditions. If a complicated move requires in-depth coverage, there's a link for the page. Additionally, we'll be adding short entries, if applicable, for moves that have specialized abilities on the overworld field.
It might not seem like a very big deal, but this was a very laborious process for me (and all of the nice people in the #psypoke chatroom who played a role in helping) because I had to test so many off-the-wall scenarios for move mechanics and toil over the best way to word sentences so that they had clarity. I really hope these new descriptions are helpful to you all! Also, feel free to e-mail us if you spot anything I've overlooked (which is certainly possible considering I'm so burned out after working on this project for two whole weeks)!
There are a still few kinks to work out in the database and with the links, and a few (read: less than ten) particularly annoying moves like Metronome still need to be updated, but I should be able to smooth everything over by the end of the day (or tomorrow at the latest).
So I'm back. Well, have been for a while, just been working on things worth posting about.
First, Frost's TechDex revamp is done! A HUGE thanks to him for all that work that went into that!
In the same vein, I've started adding moves learned in other games to the Psydex. For now, it's just XD, an example of which can be seen here.
Some of you may notice that these attacks did exist in the Psydex before, and you're right. They've been moved and expanded upon to include the levels at which they're learned. The elemental Hyper-Beams that can be taught to Johto starters are still on the Tutored Moves page as always, since you receive the starters with them already.
That's all for the moment. I have a few days off of work, so expect another update soon.

So DatVu insists that despite being tired, I should give you all an update before I go to bed.
First off, Frost has been busy again. He's gone and updated all the Episode Titles in the Anime section. It's interesting to see how many official titles have typos in them, actually.
As for me, I've been tweaking the layout of the DP Walkthrough to flow a bit better, and adding in more missing data. I'll continue to work on that as I actually make an effort to play through the game.
Speaking of DP, I've also been working on more moves for the PsyDex. There are a number of special moves various Pokemon can learn at special events. I've added them all to the PsyDex. It should be noted that the vast majority of these were only available in Japan.
While I was at that, Frost and I worked on fixing several Learnset errors, most notably things like Pokemon in DP learning Dive by Pal Park, which isn't actually possible. Similar issues were found for the Surfing and Flying Pikachu giveaways.
There's a few other things in progress, one of which you'll actually see slowly showing up as it goes along. I'm not going to officially announce it until it's done, but you're free to try to find it yourself if you'd like. It's not like I've intentionally hid it or anything.
So, have fun with that until next update. And while I'm at it, I hope all my fellow Americans enjoyed their Fourth. I think someone started a topic about it in the forums if anyone has anything interesting to share.
But before I get to those, here's what else I've been working on.
Firstly, lingering errors with the moves learned in XD have been ironed out in the Psydex. They SHOULD all be taken care of now. In addition to those errors, there was an error with the Stadium 2 Gym Castle that has also been resolved. And, of course, I fixed up some various typos on the site as provided by the forums.
Now for the good stuff. With the August issue of CoroCoro out in Japan, we've got a bunch more news on Platinum. You can read everything here, but here's a quick summary of the big stuff: - WiFi play has been massively expanded - More details about Shaymin and Giratina's alternate Formes - A Battle Frontier - An item to record your battles and share them with other players
In addition to all of that, I've uploaded twelve new screenshots from Platinum as well. Finally, given the nature of the Shaymin and Regigigas given away in Japan, I've updated the Psydex accordingly to show the moves that they learn. You'll find the new moves on the Tutored Moves/Other Moves pages for each.
Sorry for the silence recently; I've been having trouble getting back into the swing of working a regular job again.
That being said, I've made another update to our Platinum Screenshots page. I've added several new pictures and updated some older ones to much higher quality, courtesy of the official Japanese site.
Furthermore, there's been a bit of work on the Psydex. In the past, we had one calculator for IVs/DVs, but that's TECHNICALLY inaccurate. So, we've gone and split those up. The IV Calculator is in the Psydex itself, for use with RSE/FRLG/DP, and the DV Calculator is in the GSC section for use there.
Lastly, because it was so well received the first time around, we've added another new set of games to the site. In the same vein as the original Amnesia Attack games of naming Pokemon by generations, you can now do the same for the Attacks of each generation. Obviously, these four new games are significantly more difficult than the first four.
That's all for tonight. I'll try to be a little more punctual and make better use of my days off in the future.
So, it's about time for another update, don't you think? Today, I've just got two things to cover, but you can expect more later this week.
First off, we've added eight new quizzes to Amnesia Attack! You can now test your knowledge of Pokemon by type; Dragon, Flying, Ghost, Grass, Normal, Poison, Psychic, and Water have all been added. Try them out today!
The big update, however, is over on the Psydex. It was looking a little crowded with 4 generations of data being displayed at once, not to mention inconsistent; sometimes RBY was first, sometimes DP was first.
So, that's been completely cleaned up. Much like the Learnsets have their respective tabs, you'll find that other pages, such as Stats now have a little toggle on the right side. The pages all default to DP, but it's easy enough to change what you're looking at to see older versions.
That's all for now. I have a nice chunk of time off work this week, so expect some more new content in a few days.
I know, I said I would update the middle of last week. Truth be told, I DID update. I just didn't bother to post anything here because I was too busy.
So, what did I do? sN0wBaLL wrote up some more guides a while back and I've thrown them onto the site where they belong. First there's a simple little guide to the Bug Catching Contest in GSC's National Park.
The other update is a nice introduction page to Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Darkness. Much like the original PMD, we leave that section in sN0w's capable hands, so expect updates to it as he has time to work on it.
First and foremost, with a new month underway, a new round of magazines are coming out in Japan. As more details get confirmed, they're getting added to the Platinum Section. There's also a few new screenshots that I'll have posted once there are high-quality versions available.
In addition to the updates I've posted there, I'm also happy to announce that we have several more Amnesia Attacks for you. The nine remaining types (Bug, Dark, Electric, Fighting, Fire, Ground, Ice, Rock, and Steel) have been added. In addition, you'll also find some really challenging new quizzes: Abilities and Natures.

Namely, that I've been working on the site a bit, as usual. The biggest thing to note is that I've updated the Platinum Section again as of the other day, including new Pictures and Screenshots. Most notably, there's a picture of five silhouettes that have some connection to Platinum, but won't be revealed until after the release:
Also, I've added six new Amnesia Attacks today. The first five are the five sections of the old PokeRap, as they used to be divided up. Once you've gone over those and feel confident, I challenge you to try the Full PokeRap quiz, which you must complete in the correct order. I believe this should be a fun take on the quiz, don't you?
I've been immensely busy lately, but I'm hoping to try to get some site updates taken care of today; I'll just keep editing them into this spot.
For now, I can tell you that we have two new Attack Type Analyzers to go with the original one there. There are now special ones for GSC and for RBY. These tools are incredibly useful for helping you plan your teams to maximize your ability to take reduced damage.
Since then, I've gone ahead and fixed an error in the moves learned in Pokemon XD.
Next up was a quick fix to an error in the TechDex Search feature.
Hopefully more updates to come before the day is out.
Sorry I didn't get this posted within the other update, but I ran out of time. Quite frankly, I think this deserves to be on its own anyway.
I've added a massive update to the Platinum Section with a good deal more info. More importantly, however, I've added 30 new images to the Screenshots Page.
Tomorrow, between rounds of packing, I hope to be able to add a few more updates as well.
No, I didn't modify the update time; it actually is 2am my local time and I'm posting this.
I'll start off by apologizing for disappearing for so long. I've been back on campus for a week now and classes and work are getting back into full swing. However, I'm pretty well settled in now and should be getting back to regular updates. Good thing too, since next weekend is going to be busy for us.
You may have noticed that about a week ago, I made some slight revisions to the Platinum Section to start getting things better organized for when Pokemon Platinum releases in Japan next week.
The only change to the TechDex...is that Hypnosis is now 60% accurate (What it used to be in RBY GSC RSELGFR), which is down from 70% in Diamond and Pearl.
In accordance with the updates to the level-up moves, the World Map has been updated to include these locations as well.
In addition to all the changes made to the Platinum Section that you'll see in the previous update, I have the following to inform you about from this previous week.
First off, the TechDex has been updated to show all the new levels for Platinum. Hypnosis also shows its updated accuracy.
The big news, however, is that our Platinum Walkthrough is written all the way through the eight gym battles. All that remains is Victory Road to the Elite Four, and that will be posted shortly.
And we're not done, either. Keep an eye out for more news before the weekend is over and I'm back in class.
EDIT: Ok, so it's TECHNICALLY Monday night, but we do have Platinum Sprites added to the PicDex. The regular sprites are processed already, and the shiny and back sprites are being taken care of now; they'll be added as they're completed.
We've updated the Psydex with the missing piece of the Platinum Jigsaw: the move tutors!
Some other minor updates: - The TechDex includes the translation of the Japanese name of the attacks, which helps explain which certain moves behave the way they do. For example, Sucker Punch isn't actually a kind of punch and hence does not get boosted by Iron Fist. - The Google Search Bar, if you haven't noticed, searches the Psydex by default. This has been upgraded to take you to alternate forme pages, so searching for "Shaymin Sky" will take you to the correct page - The Platinum walkthrough for Victory Road and the Pokemon League has been added - All the Platinum front sprites are now available in the Picdex. The back sprites take a while to process, and most of them are the same as Diamond and Pearl, so these are low priority but they will be added eventually! - For your convenience, the version selector in the Psydex now persists across pages.
I know, I know, it's been a while since I posted an update. We're not dead, we're just busy. And with the Platinum Section up and running for a few weeks now, there hasn't been much to report on.
That being said, we've been keeping ourselves busy. There have been several bug fixes around the site in the past couple weeks. In addition to that, I've been looking into restructuring the Platinum Section to make it a little more organized. It's a work in progress.
Lately our attention has been focused on the forums; both fixing up some problems and planning. For those of you not familiar with the community, we like to have a little fun for Halloween, and we use the forums and the chats to do that. If you haven't been around for the celebrations before, you should sign up and join us this year.
I suppose I should make an official statement that we have, in fact, not died, huh?
The site is alive and well, I assure you. I'd like to start by reminding you to check out not only the full Diamond and Pearl Section, but also the Platinum Section. Most of note, of course, is the Full Platinum Walkthrough, which has been quite popular since it was posted.
Now, why hasn't there been a news post in a month. Well, quite simply, most of my efforts on the site for the past month have been just fixing up little things here and there, and getting the site ready for when Platinum makes its official English debut.
I'd like to take this opportunity to say that if there are any suggestions you have as far as things you'd like to see covered in the meantime, or upon the English release of Platinum, feel free to drop us a line. If it's feasible and useful, it'll get added to the list.
In the mean time, I'll do my best to at least keep you all more in the loop as far as what's going on. No more long pauses between updates, save for the ever-approaching finals week.
I'm currently busy working on something that I'm hoping to have finished up during finals week (yeah, right). However, I would like to take the moment to say something. Further down on the page, you will see the a picture. Four updates above that, I link you to all Rotom Formes.
So, please, STOP emailing me telling me you know what the silhouettes are. So do I, and I've known for months; the pages have been up for months, with all the relevant data. So really, you don't have to keep telling me.
With that, expect some updates over the next two weeks as I vent finals frustration with some guides and projects that are getting ready to be posted.

I just wanted to throw out a quick blurb to say that I'm starting to work on putting up a section for Pokemon Ranger: Shadows of Almia. I'll be working on this off and on over the next few days.
I've nearly completed finals, meaning that in about a week's time I'll be able to make some more significant progress on the site. And let me tell you, we've got some interesting plans in the works. You'll want to keep an eye on what's coming over this Winter Break.
4Kids Entertainment has confirmed that voice actress Maddie Blaustein, who is probably best known to the Pokemon fandom as the longest-lasting voice actress of Meowth (as well as other characters, such as Lt. Surge), died last week. I just wanted to report this one to pay my respects to a woman who played a major part in a TV show that I've enjoyed for years and give my condolences to her friends and family.
I just wanted to take a moment to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a happy holiday season. So on behalf of everyone here at Psypoke; the Elite Four, the Lite Four, myself, and the forum staff, have a fun and relaxing holiday.
I've updated the Platinum Section to reflect the confirmed release date of March 22nd, 2009.
Finally, I've added two more guides for Pokemon Ranger 2 that tiger's written up for us. -First off, there is a guide to changes in capturing Pokemon. -Next, a list of all the Field Moves used in the game.
Note that both of these guides are written from the perspective of having played the original Pokemon Ranger game and focus on new aspects for the sequel. If you have not played the first game, you should consult the relevant guide for that game first to learn the basics, and then use these new guides to get into the specifics of the new system.
