Happy New Year! - TonberryKing at 0:00 am PST 1 Jan 2005
Wishing you all a happy new year - welcome to 2005! Just a small notice, we've put up an "About Us" page that has our profiles and a gallery of our site banners. We'll put up the Site History some other times.. it does require quite a lot of writing. Take a look at the page here.

Emerald Updates - TonberryKing at 9:15 pm PST 1 Jan 2005
Thanks to two of the site's viewers, we've got a bit of news about Pokemon Emerald, the third game in the Gems series.

From Ben Johnson:
Firstly, the building situated in Route 111's Desert isn't the Battle Pyramid as suggested by us, but is actually Illusion Pillar, where the fossils are found. It only appears after talking to the Ruin Maniac in Fallarbor Town. Head back to the desert and it'll be here. You will need the Mach Bike to get over the cracking floors.
Secondly, Enshida claims to be on the lookout for the best trainers. He has a house on Battle Frontier where he keeps track of such people. You get a Lansat Berry if you beat all 7 Battle Frontier events with Silver Badges, and a Starf Berry if you get Gold Badges.

From RedDude08:
Rayquaza is available in game, and the Sky Pillar can be accessed before beating the Elite Four. Moreover, it does not have cracked floors so the Mach Bike is not needed.

Thanks to you both for your input! I've added this information to the relevant Emerald pages.

Latest Stuff - TonberryKing at 8:29 pm PST 14 Jan 2005
So I've been busy at work, and Amphy's been away, and Frost has been busy at school, and darkmind is always busy. But yet the site is still here, and a few changes have been made:

There's some fixes to the Emerald section. I've added an Abilities Guide and Breeding Guide, since there are some neat new things in Emerald that affect those two aspects of the game. Furthermore, I've done a bit of research and found out that you actually can catch Kyogre and Groudon in Emerald, and you can find out more in the Legendaries page. Check out the Emerald section by clicking on the button on the menu.

Secondly, the Damage Calculator has had a few fixes and changes. It now includes certain traits like Blaze, Swarm, Thick Fat, Hustle and Water Absorb that affect the damage being dealt.

Third, the TechDex has information on targetting and direct attacks. Targetting is especially important in double battles since a variety of moves affect different Pokemon in and out of the battlefield. Direct attacks are the attacks that will activate such abilities as Cute Charm and Static. You can also use the TechDex search with Target and Direct Attack functions.

Still here - TonberryKing at 7:08 pm PST 11 Feb 2005
Yeah we're still here. Just a few updates today:

We've got two new Pokemon tools - one is a Pokemon Comparison Tool that lets you compare the statistics of two or three Pokemon, as well as their RSE/LGFR TMs. I'll probably work on this more later, but for now, you can find it here. There's also a suggested movesets page, where you can take a look at some movesets that our forum members have come up with.

There's also a little update to the Hidden Power page, I've listed the highest possible DVs that give a 70 base power Hidden Power, and for each possible type.

Also if you haven't noticed, Frost has been working away on the Anime site, and this section has its own news page here.

New Pokemon - TonberryKing at 1:36 am PST 20 Feb 2005
A new Pokemon by the name of "Rukario" has been revealed on the Pokemon 2005 Movie site. About halfway down the page you can see this Pokemon's silhouette.

New Dash Screens - Amphy at 1:42 pm PST 23 Feb 2005
I'm not sure how old these are, but I haven't seen them before so I thought I would put them up - 6 screenshots from the English edition of Pokemon Dash:

Nintendo Events - TonberryKing at 1:03 am PST 1 Mar 2005
Hey everyone,
We've been receiving a lot of emails about this lately, so I thought I'll make a news post about it.

You'll notice that around the site we refer to "Nintendo Events", for example, Deoxys' Pokedex Page. A Nintendo Event is a special occasion where Nintendo will give out items like Aurora Tickets via a Mystery Gifting machine. Alternatively, the New York PokeCenter will sometimes hold a promotion whereby you can obtain similar rare items.

You can check out the official Pokemon site, www.pokemon.com for any such events and promotions.

I hope this answers many of your questions!

Pokemon XD - TonberryKing at 12:21 am PST 11 Mar 2005
It's finally here - a Pokemon game for the GameCube... and it's an RPG! Check out this interview done by IGN http://cube.ign.com/articles/594/594834p2.html and scroll all the way to the bottom.

New Pokemon - TonberryKing at 1:35 am PST 15 Mar 2005
The Japanese 2005 Movie Site has released some more silhouettes of Pokemon set to be in the new Pearl/Diamond Games.

The one on the right is speculated to be Sudowoodo's pre-evolution, temporarily (and UNOFFICIALLY) nicknamed Seedoweedo.

And the site also has a nice picture of Rukario that I thought I would post here. They have also released its height (1.2m or 3ft 11in) and weight (54.0kg or 119lbs), but its type remains "???"

Pokemon Official Site - TonberryKing at 2:06 am PST 23 Mar 2005
In case you haven't noticed, the official Pokemon sites, www.pokemon.com and www.pokemoncenter.com, have had a makeover fitting the release of Pokemon Dash and also the opening of the Pokemon Theme Park, PokePark, in Japan.

Also, Nintendo is holding a Pokemon Emerald Battle Frontier Contest. Details and registration at http://emerald.pokemon-games.com/battle/index.jsp

And finally, I found a Pokemon Dash wallpaper for scrolling through all the pages on the official Dash site. 1024x768 800x600

Psylab - TonberryKing at 4:44 am PST 24 Mar 2005
Once again we've decided to change the Psylab around a bit. The Psylab now contains all the guides and lists that apply to the entire Advance Generation. In other words, things like Abilities, Natures, Hidden Values, Type Chart etc will no longer be found under the RSE and LGFR menus - instead, they will be under the Psylab.

It's kinda late for me so things may not be working at the moment, but rest assured I'll have all the minor details tweaked and polished as soon as I can. Yay for 5 day weekend!

LGFR Walkthrough Update - Amphy at 6:05 pm PST 27 Mar 2005
Hi everyone! I hope all your Easter breaks have been going well :)

We have made a few updates to the LGFR Walkthrough, so all sections are now complete. You can access the Walkthrough by using the menu on the left, or the Quick Link at the top of the page.

Amphy

DONT PANIC - Amphy at 0:23 am PST 1 Apr 2005
As some of you may have noticed, we have a new banner up! This is a first of many radical changes Psypoke will undergo over the next few weeks...I'll keep you posted :)

Amphy

Funny Funny Haha - TonberryKing at 3:53 am PST 2 Apr 2005
Yeah, I hope you enjoyed the Hitchiker's banner (It was a very nice one while it lasted). At least it wasn't as seizure-inducing as the forums, whose cool blue theme was radically changed to hot pink, lime green and brown.

Moreover, the "New Topic" and "Add Reply" buttons were replaced with "Delete C:" and "Install Virus". We managed to fool some people though :)

And I hope no one was disappointed that they couldn't download the Internet...

But in Pokemon News, the official Pokemon site, www.pokemon.com has some English screenshots from the upcoming Pokemon Emerald game. And all I can ascertain from these screenshots is that a mysterious boulder south of Mt Chimney will shake in response to a "Magma Emblem". Could this be the secret base where Team Magma are guarding Groudon?

Emerald Animations - Amphy at 9:51 pm PST 3 Apr 2005
We have been told that people from another Pokemon Website's forums have been offering our Emerald animations for use on forums claiming they have made them themselves. They have also created storage websites with our animations saying they are free to use.

Psypoke made all their Emerald animations and it quite clearly says on the bottom of every Picture Dex page that they cannot be used without our permission. We can easily prove that they are our animations, so could the people doing this please remove all instances of our animations from the forums which they have been offered, and the storage websites which offer them to anyone. We will find you.

All 386 Emerald animations can be viewed in our PictureDex.

New Pages - TonberryKing at 2:08 pm PST 10 Apr 2005
I've been working on a few things this past week, and they're finally ready for public viewing.

First is a Time Changer for Gold and Silver, that gives you a password to reset the clock. Take a look at it here: Time Changer.

Secondly, because so many people have been asking, we've put up a guide to Nintendo Events. Thanks to Jigglypuff for some info. You can take a look at it here: Nintendo Events

Three New Pokemon Revealed! - TonberryKing at 2:26 am PST 14 Apr 2005
A few updates ago we posted the silhouettes to three Pokemon in the upcoming Pearl and Diamond. And now they have been revealed in full colour and form!

Manene - height: 0.6m, weight: 13.0kg

Bonsly, Sudowoodo's pre-evolution - height: 0.5m, weight: 15.0kg

Manyula, Sneasel's evolution - height: 1.1m, weight: 34.0kg

Moreover, Rukario's type has been confirmed as Steel/Fighting. More news to follow as I try to look for some helpful Japanese translators! For now, a summary of the new Pokemon can be found at the Pearl Diamond page, also accessible by the new button on the site menu.

It Is Finally Here - TonberryKing at 1:19 pm PST 1 May 2005
Pokemon Emerald is finally here!!

Wow I'm so excited, Pokemon Emerald is going to be a fantastic game. We've got loads of information just waiting to be uploaded (I'm going to have to do that later today after University). Keep an eye out on the main site! And more ENGLISH screenshots coming soon!!

Site Updates - TonberryKing at 3:40 am PST 2 May 2005
So yeah, I got back from a busy day at University, and spent my time updating the site:

In the Emerald section, there's a guide showing all the new Gym Layouts. There's also a guide for the several Move Tutors around Hoenn that will teach you some of the great moves from RBY and GSC. I've also updated the Legendaries guide with English screenshots.

Currently we're working on a Battle Frontier Guide, as well as a few other things for Pokemon Emerald. Stay tuned!

And I did this a while ago but never announced it: our Hidden Power Guide now has a manual calculation for those of you who do not know your Pokemon's DVs. This guide will tell you the type of your Hidden Power with a series of logical tests. Thanks to Water Pokemon Master for this!

For New Emerald Players... - Amphy at 3:52 pm PST 2 May 2005
Hi everyone!

For those of you who have just brought Emerald, I have made a guide which may be useful to you. It is a Basic Changes Guide, which lists all the differences between Ruby/Sapphire and Emerald. It also has links under the relevant things to our pages which contain more information. I will be adding more to it soon!

To check it out, Click Here

Emerald Dex Entries, Frontier Guide - Amphy at 8:44 pm PST 3 May 2005
We have put up the Emerald Pokedex entries for the Hoenn Pokemon, Treecko through to Rayquaza. To check them out, go to the PsyDex.

Battle Frontier Guide

Click the above link to check it out!!

Also, just a reminder that we have all the Emerald animations in our PicDex.

Site Updates - TonberryKing at 10:41 pm PST 8 May 2005
Firstly, the Emerald section has a guide on some special Pokemon you can get in the game, like Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile and Sudowoodo, as well as a deeper explanation of the fossils and Mirage Tower. There's also some other things that haven't changed from Ruby and Sapphire, like Beldum and Wynaut.

And secondly, two main site updates. First is a lengthy Site History for interest and secondly, a Site Map for easier navigation.

(Edit) While scrolling through the directories, I found a GSC Max Stats list that never made it onto the menu. So it's there now.

Pokemon XD screenshots - TonberryKing at 3:29 pm PST 13 May 2005
The official Japanese Site has been updated with some Pokemon XD screenshots! What is this mysterious Dark Lugia?

To check the site out, Click Here!

And in site news, I've made a Stats Guide at the request of some forum members.

Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness - Amphy at 7:14 pm PST 17 May 2005

Check out more information on the official site: HERE

50 more XD Screens (English!) - Amphy at 4:54 pm PST 20 May 2005
I have screened 50 more screens from Pokemon XD (English Version) from E3.

CHECK THEM ALL OUT HERE.

Update - TonberryKing at 3:49 am PST 3 Jun 2005
With exams looming, there won't be many updates to the site. So I put in a phenomenal amount of effort and mapped the new section of the Safari Zone for Pokemon Emerald. There will also be a map for Team Magma's Hideout in Jagged Pass, and an Emerald Walkthrough is currently in the making.

Psypoke Wallpaper - Amphy at 9:44 pm PST 15 Jun 2005
To keep things rolling along until we finish exams, I have uploaded a Psypoke/Pokemon Emerald wallpaper for 1024x768 users! It features the Sugimori art for the 7 Frontier leaders.

We will have wallpapers for 800x600 and larger screen resolutions soon.

To download it, click the link below, and then right click on the image and select 'Set as Wallpaper':

Bonsly - Amphy at 4:40 pm PST 16 Jun 2005
Pokemon.com have unveiled the English name of the Pokemon we nicknamed "Seedoweedo", Sudowoodo's pre-evolution. It's Bonsly, and my guess is it is derived from the Japanese miniature trees, Bonsai. It is confirmed that Bonsly will be in Pokemon XD as a lost Pokemon you must return to its trainer.

It is also confirmed that Mew in in Pokemon XD. I will edit this post soon with some more new XD screenshots.

Pokemon Emerald Dex Entries - TonberryKing at 3:17 am PST 28 Jun 2005
We finally have all the Pokemon Emerald Dex Entries available for viewing in the Psydex. Thank you to all those who offered to help us with this, but all that was needed was some free time from exams :)

Mystic Ticket Giveaway - TonberryKing at 2:57 pm PST 11 Jul 2005
That's right, there will be a Mystic Ticket Giveaway! I told you to check www.pokemon.com regularly for details of Nintendo Events, and those of who have, you'll find out that the chance to catch Ho-oh and Lugia will be given out at the San Diego Comic-Con from July 14-17.

Just turn up at the Nintendo Booth (#1929 & 2029, middle of the hall) on Thursday to Sunday, between 11am – 1pm, or 3pm – 5pm. Bring along your GBA and Wireless Adapter too.

For more information, see the official Pokemon site or the official Comic-Con site. And as always, check out our Nintendo Events guide for directions on how to use the Mystic Ticket. Thanks to Caprie Silver for bringing my attention to this!

Gigantic Site Overhaul - TonberryKing at 4:36 am PST 13 Jul 2005
That's right, we've completely changed the site! It looks the same you say? Well yeah.

You see, we've reconstructed our database to be more dynamic and flexible so that we can easily update it with incoming information, especially with Pearl and Diamond on the (far) horizon.

As a result, we've had to redo the Psydex, Picdex, TechDex and many other pages around the site. However we haven't fully completed everything, but these will still run under the old database configuration.

But in saying this, we decided to add a few things to the Psydex: firstly, the pages are now printer-friendly and the menu bar/title at the top will disappear when you print off our dex. And thanks to tiger10x from our forums, we've also added some stats pertaining to Pokemon and Experience Points.

So in summary, we rescripted half the site to be more secure, more flexible and more dynamic, but haven't changed the look and the functionality. Great isn't it?

Emerald Walkthrough - Amphy at 11:24 pm PST 23 Jul 2005
Due to popular demand, we have put together an Emerald Walkthrough. The Walkthrough is basically designed to be used with the other Emerald guides and is basically a run through the game guide.

The screen shots too indicate the major changes within the game.

The Walkthrough will still get you through the whole storyline of the game, but for finer details the Ruby/Sapphire Walkthrough should be used.

To check it out click: The Emerald Walkthrough

Also we will be making some dex updates soon :)

XD, PsyDex and PicDex updates! - Amphy at 9:10 pm PST 30 Jul 2005
Firstly, the XD Box Art for the English version is out:

Click Here for a big version.

Secondly, we have added the RBY and GSC stats do the Stats pages in the Psydex. This is to reflect the differences between the stats in each of the series of games.

Finally, we have the RS Pinball pictures up in the PicDex for all the obtainable Pokemon in RS Pinball and animations of the Pokemon with animations available.

More big PsyDex updates coming soon :)

An addition to the PsyDex family... - Amphy at 11:55 pm PST 8 Aug 2005
Hi everyone!

It gives me great pleasure today to unveil the newest addition to the PsyDex family. Joining the PicDex and TechDex is, the DeckDex!

Click here to check it out!

The Elite Four would like to give HUGE thanks to FireStarter and Flaming_Wuzzle, who, with Frost, collated all the card data. Without their combined efforts and fantastic dedication, this project could not have happened.

You'll also notice the addition of Pokemon Puzzle Challenge sprites to the Picdex, as well as very handy text-box on each Psydex Menu allowing you to type in a Pokemon name. Hit enter, and you'll be taken directly to that Pokemon's dex page. Don't know how to spell that Pokemon's name? Don't worry, you'll be given a list of possible options.

Expect some more Psydex Updates soon!

Site Updates, Pokemon Torouze AND Nintendo Events - TonberryKing at 0:57 am PST 13 Aug 2005

Pokemon Torouze is the new Puzzle game for the Nintendo DS. Your goal is to align the Pokemon faces on screen using the touch-pen, much like the game play in Pokemon Puzzle Challenge. We've got the first screenshots of the game in Japanese:

In addition to this, the TCG section is being revamped, thanks to the info provided by the Deck Dex. We've also added TCG Dex Entries to the Psydex too, as well as basic pages for the 5 Pearl/Diamond Pokemon.

Finally, on August 20 and 21, there will be a chance for Southern Californians (Or anyone desperate enough) to grab a Mystic Ticket. From Pokemon.com: Drop by the Grand Foyer of the Town and Country Resort San Diego on August 20 or 21, and a staff member will assist you in downloading the Mystic Ticket to your copies of Pokemon FireRed, LeafGreen or Emerald. You'll need to bring your Gameboy Advance, a Wireless Adapter, and of course, your games! You can get the Mystic Ticket at the following times -
Saturday: 12noon - 2pm; 4pm - 5pm
Sunday: 10am - 11am; 12noon - 2pm

There may be more opportunities to get tickets with Pokemon Rocks America, 2005. Once again, check the official site for dates and locations. Thanks to Caprie for alerting me to this.

More Psydex Updates - TonberryKing at 5:42 am PST 16 Aug 2005
It's certainly the season for Psydex changes - we've had so many recently. First it was the Deck Dex, then we added the TextBox Searcher, Pearl/Diamond Pokemon, Pinball RS Sprites, Pokemon Puzzle Challenge Sprites...and now we have a few smaller changes:
- Firstly, a weakness, resistance and immunities listing under "General Info"
- Secondly, an Evolution Stage sort in the Search page, as well as a Habitat sort
- Thirdly, Base Happiness under Stats - you'll notice Effort Values has migrated to Stats as well.
- And finally, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank one of our site visitors for repeatedly emailing me about Togetic's stats page (It kept showing Togepi's stats). I've finally fixed it. For real. I thought I had before, but I hadn't. So thank you :)

Speaking of credits, I've put together a little list of those who have contributed in making the site what it is today. Check out the Credits Section in the About Us Page.

Stay tuned for even more Psydex updates!

Picdex Updates - TonberryKing at 4:31 am PST 28 Aug 2005
A huge addition to the Psypoke Picdex, we have added 251 Pokemon pictures from Pokemon Stadium, as well as Sugimori Art for both the Kanto Games, and the Hoenn Games.

Furthermore, we have removed the Right-Click restriction on all static Gameboy Sprites (That is, Green, Red/Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver, Ruby, Sapphire, LeafGreen and FireRed). Remember if you're using them on your own site, please give credit to us :)

New Pages - TonberryKing at 7:48 pm PST 30 Aug 2005
Just a couple of new pages - they've actually been up for sometime but I thought I'd mention them here in case you didn't spot them on the menu (Which looks strangely different now.... hmm.)

First is the TCG Search page, which lets you search for any TCG Card on our database using various criteria.

Secondly, a page on the 6 Berries in Pokemon Emerald that will lower your EVs just in case you've made a mistake in your EV training.

And finally, a guide on Pokerus, the virus that helps your Pokemon's stats to grow.

Thanks to RaichuLatias from our forums, I've also updated the GSC Johto and Kanto Gym Leader Pages with the attacks for each Pokemon.

The final addition to the Picdex... - TonberryKing at 5:11 am PST 1 Sep 2005
Thanks to TheCyberMew, we've finally got all the animations and sprites from Pokemon Pinball for GBC! They've all been uploaded to the Picdex.

Also, a few site updates: the Emerald Abilities Page now has a Pick Up list, there's now a guide to Emerald's Trainer Hill, and some updates have been made about the PokeNav's Match Call. Steven's roster has also been added to the Gym & Elites page. It's been a productive week! :)

Titles for the Nintendo DS - TonberryKing at 10:03 pm PST 23 Sep 2005
Some more screenshots have been released on the Japanese Pokemon website, this time for Pokemon Torouze and also Pokemon Dungeon Red & Blue. Check out the respective pages now.

Also, in anticipation of the US release of Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness, Nintendo have put up a pre-launch site.

And sorry for the lack of updates, everyone's just busy with school and University, as usual.

Pokemon XD - TonberryKing at 2:08 pm PST 4 Oct 2005
With Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness in stores, we've managed to update the Psydex with a few things:

Firstly, after your Pokemon have been purified, they will learn certain moves that they do not usually. These can be found under "Tutored Moves" then "Other Moves" on the Psydex.

Secondly, there is a man who may teach Mew one of six new moves that it didn't learn previously. Check out Mew's page to take a look.

You can also check out the official site for some screenshots and some information.

Japanese Ranger and Dungeon websites - Amphy at 3:17 am PST 18 Oct 2005
The Japanese Pokemon website has been updated with screenshots from Pokemon Ranger and Pokemon Dungeon - the new games for the DS

We will have the screens on our site soon, until then click the links above to check them out!

New Server - TonberryKing at 9:48 pm PST 19 Nov 2005
As you may have noticed there have been a few changes as a result of shifting servers. We're still hosted under IGN/Gamespy and ClassicGaming, but we have our own domain name now! Please remember to update your bookmarks with http://www.psypokes.com. The old URL will redirect to here.

As a result of the move, there are still some teething problems that will be ironed out over the next few weeks.

Some of the changes you might see: the site is now optimised for FireFox, the recommended screen resolution is now 1024 x 768, we have custom error pages kindly drawn by Confused Flareon of our forums, we have a Stadium 2 Section and a list of all the new Pokemon XD moves.

Dungeon Sprites - TonberryKing at 5:07 pm PST 2 Dec 2005
Just a small update... I added a few Pokemon Dungeon sprites to the Picdex, as well as the sprites of the Pokemon from RSE/LGFR's menu.

Sorry there hasn't been that many updates, but we're getting things done, slowly.

Wow it's a site update! - TonberryKing at 3:00 am PST 22 Dec 2005
Unbelievable isn't it?

Thanks to swift53 from our forums we now have a shiny Pokemon guide, explaining what they are and a few mechanics behind it.

And also, we have some added information to the Tech Dex in the form of move priority, and King's Rock/Brightpowder bonuses.

More to follow since my job has wrapped up for the year!

Merry Christmas! - TonberryKing at 12:00 am PST 25 Dec 2005
Another Christmas has come, on behalf of the Elite Four, we wish you a merry Christmas and a happy New Year! Be safe when you travel, and hope you have lots of presents and food!

Psydex Locations - TonberryKing at 2:17 am PST 30 Dec 2005
Thanks to some powerful scripting, a few late nights, and the loss of much sanity, the Psydex Pokemon Locations have had a huge revamp! So much has changed that it'll be better for you to take a look rather than for me to explain, so here's Abra's Locations Page.

With this new format, the walkthroughs for all versions will be updated with individual route data and also the Psydex Search page will let you search by location.

Thanks to sN0wBaLL for helping me with this, and to our many advisors concerning the location method icons.
